I have just started a season as Team Wellington. Just curious to see if anyone else has had a go at the ASBP on the latest FM as well?

I am struggling to find a database in which the ASB Premiership works correctly - what one are you using?

To be honest, I've just done a little bit of editing in the Editor itself and then done the rest (competition format etc) in the Nation Rules part of the Editor. Works quite nicely although it's a very short season of course.

Only major difference I have is that I have the Chatham Cup running at the same time as I like the idea of the ABSP teams competing against the established club sides for that in a FA Cup-style David & Goliath scenario. :)

check this one out.. works out fine for me ;) http://www.fmscout.com/a-fm16-leagues-megapack-by-...

I think it's about 99% correct apart from some players who aren't in the right team.

Have fun!

Yeah massively indepth...No chance to have careers in to 2040+ that I had in FM08, FM09 & FM10 any more...

Though the FM Classic (or is it FM Touch now?) mode is a little less in depth, I think I'd like the options to turn a lot more things on & off so easier to play through some seasons.

I find when I first join a club it takes me about 10-20hrs gameplay before I play the first game of the season (Assuming I join in preseason), if I join in season then I spend a long time preparing for the first transfer window before I even push continue that first time...

Oh and that 10-20hrs wouldn't include me setting up my squad & transfer views that I do before doing anything else (Though only have to do them 1-2 times per game release)

Man, it is bloody hard coaching the nix. I had to sell roly coz I was losing so much cash. And now Lia has kicked up a stink about us not challenging for the title so he doesn't want to play for me and reira is homesick and wants to leave at the end of the season! Ffs. Add to that the salary cap and max foreign players. My new plan is to get the editor and put them in England doc 2 and work them to the premiership

I used the editor to take over a team from "Wellington" in Lower Leagues  (Using a Level 10 edit), changed them to yellow & black, and a few other small edits and worked them up :)

Yea I might have to do that. My guys are still on struggle street. The transfer window was a nightmare for me with players wanting to jump. BUT I sign del peiro for peanuts and now Krishna is banging them in!! ... I'll still get the sack at the end of the season though....

I'm slowly getting the hang of it now. I've quickly learnt that going on the attack all the time is the worst thing to do. But now I'm struggling to buy in good players now that I don't know who is good anymore( this is a few seasons into the future) and all of my scouts are only 1 star. In fact all of my staff are 1 star. I need to get a few 2s and 3s I think.

Yes - scouting quality is key. Also need to scout players for a while especially to avoid injury proneness. I personally think the Australian local players in the database have inflated Current Ability and Potential Ability.

Are you still the Nix? What year?

Anyone else think that this season's EPL looks like something from FM a few game-years in? United and Chelsea out of the top 4, Bournemouth looking like staying up, Villa going down, and of course Spurs and Leicester battling for the title. Even Leicester's squad looks like something out of the game - top scorer was playing non-league football a few years ago and their best mid cost less than a million pounds.

i was but after a huge fudge up last night i lost my game. I was playing around with the in game editor and was trying to create a nix team in 2nd div england and accidentally saved over my file!!!

I was in my 2nd year with the nix and i had managed 9th in the first and was sitting 6th half way through the second.

i think ive settled  on a structure with the nix that worked well and that is a 4-4(off set with Krishna playing AML)2. was working really well for me. Both Fenton and Gorrin come on heaps ay

yea scouting and contract signing still does my head in. i struggle gettting a good balance of things ay.

Into my 2nd season with the nix in England. Came 3rd in league 2. Got promoted and now I'm getting smashed. But my biggest issue is not being able to re-sign any nix players(except for arod and Albert) due to visa restrictions. So at the end of the year most of my team will leave for free.... Fark.

Just got this the other day. Took over as AW's manager so I could play around with tactics, formations etc without the financial pressures of running the Nix. Also find it's helpful having a good look at the National Pool, to get a gauge of the talent, and the regen's coming through who could be promising players, so I can knick in for them later on :)

Won the Nations Cup in a canter, and had some encouraging results against some decent sides (ie - teams in the top 80 in the world rankings), drew 0-0 with Ivory Coast, thrashed Montenegro, Canada, & Haiti. Dominated Venezuela in shots, possession passing, but lost 1-0...

Will take over the Nix at the end of the season as Ernie's off in to retirement. Looking like a shocking team to try and take over, I'll try get some screen grabs of what I'll be getting myself into.

Already sorted my strategy for them too. Planning to release all import spots and raid the lower leagues of Uruguay, Chile for cheap talented kids. Try and pick up some of my AW's regulars - Musa, De Vries, Old (Yes Steven Old!) Roux. And promote Dimairo, Singh, McGarry & Rogerson.

Wish me luck!

Try USA as well. In previous versions of the game all their clubs had high Youth facilities and Youth coaching so players had high PA. Haven't looked this time around but probably still the same. I've had back luck in the past with South Americans not adapting and wanting to go home (mainly Brazilians and Argentinians though).

Reckon you'll need to set the board expectations of what you'll do pretty low if you're promoting that much youth. First couple of years will be tough before you start flourishing and you need to make sure you don't get the sack!

IMHO the Australian players are wayyyy over-rated. It's probably a hangover of them winning the Asian Cup.

Just enquire about some 'starlet' like Mustafa Amini, Bernie Abini, Ryan Edwards, etc. Possibly will get one of them on loan.

They are okay players but we've seen them all play in the A-League and they aren't really stand outs. They all rate in the CA > 100 and PA > 120.

Aaron Mooy is CA128 and PA130 on the winter updates DB. That would have him in contention as a starting midfielder in some premier league teams.

Anyway, I think the Australian database has gone mad.

The American researcher always had a massively inflated view of the level of the MLS and US players.  Amazed no on has called them on it and rebalanced it.

so when playing the a-league in this game, i dont seem to have the option of offering players marquee status (home grown or otherwise) is this option hidden in the contract info anywhere?

Back when I was involved we had huge problems convincing them to customise the A-League rules.  In the end the two Aus researchers rage quit over it.  I suspect they are still out.

I always found good Ecuadorians and Peruvains knocking around in domestic leagues who were happy to jon the Phoenix.

From what I understand they just take the highest player wages at this point in time (Don't quote me on it, but that was the case a couple back), so basically if you add up your cap hit it will be your total squad wages - the top 2 players

Ahh ok. I've decided to flag the a-league for now anyway as I think it's one of the hardest leagues to manage( made extra hard by managing the nix). But managing a league two side with a smattering of nix players is going well. Challenging Portsmouth for the title. (Saprong is the league top scorer!!!) Now what does the director of football do? I've just hired one and I'm not sure why. But I had a space for him on my staff....

oh ok, yea i thought he was kinda like a 2nd manager as it looks like he can do everything i can do... bit odd. but i suppose in the bigger clubs with shark going everywhere they would be handy as to have.... can they over throw you if you have a shark run?!?!

I have asked him to find me players to sign because i am still very crap at that. hopefully he comes through.

so just got my phoenix team (thou very few nix players remain) into the championship... got given a lot of money (as well as selling Che Nunnley - hes cheap to get at the start and then turns into a gun! - for 15mil) and i have just brought every player recommended to me which has left me with a huge squad, no budget and a whole lot of disharmony. as diddy says mo money mo problems.

Im in a pickle where if i sell a bunch of players now there the squad will be pissed, but if i keep them all they will get pissed at me for not playing them. fark!

what i think my real issue is that i still react to every recommendation given to me by my backroom staff. im struggling to be a proactive manager - though i am still learning.

this season will be a massive challenge. staying up is going to be a nightmare.

also what is the benefit of setting philosophies with your board? I see them as an unnecessary KPI so ive never set any. but are there benefits to them?

yea cool, ive been doing this. the squad is back to thinking i do an ok job. board love me, fans too.

I loaned out A-rod and he is killing it, as is Jamie Mclaren. Ive loaned in a heap of good players which is hold me up at the mo. Pretty much my back third and front third are loaners. its great. and ive just wasted a huge chunk of cash on a good be painfully slow keeper, and a box to box midfielder who has no engine. gar!

i think this is also a realization for me that this game isn't fifa, i cant take a div 2 team to the premier league(or championship) and be competitive without much better strategy behind what i do. the sudden rise has left me with a weaker than ideal squad. If id taken an extra season build up a strong squad and then challenge for the title, id be in a better position to stay up, rather than scrapping through in the playoffs and now on struggle street in the championship.

Fm 2016 seems this season to have a load more more whingers in the playing staff. I am playing as cheltenham town in the vanerama league and have a 16 year old kid in the youth team who all the premier league teams are trying to get off me, so I put him in the first team squad to see what he could do and them moved him back (he was no great shakes) he then wanted a better contract and with a transfer budget of a whole 35,000 pounds he wanted 60,000 pounds a week?  he has two years left on his contract but the sharks are still circling and he wants a transfer

Didn't manage to get the Nix, job, lost out to Tony Vidmar - who turned out to be a good choice, won the FFA Cup and 2 finals series in the first 3 seasons at the helm...

Took the first job I was offered, Wycombe Wanderers, League 2 strugglers, 300-1 to win the league and a media prediction of 24th in the first season (everyone else was 40-1 or better)

First season, no budget, no real talent in the squad. Set out the stalls to defend, and hit on the counter. Managed to clamber to 14th after managing 6 points from the first 12 games, which I thought wasn't too bad.

Second season, a substantial budget, brought in a lot of youngsters from the academy, promoted a few of them to the first team and signed several players who were on the outer in League 1 or bottom half of the Championship. Just finished the season and got promoted after finishing 3rd. Bottled the last 5 games after leading the league from about halfway through the season. Got a decent squad, so will give League 1 a shake. Going to be another difficult season, but going to be reliant on a solid defence (if I can keep the championship sides from taking 3 of my back 4).

Best signing - Thomas Glover (GK), got on a free from Tottenham at age 19, spent a decent amount of time building up a very good coaching staff, turning him into a brilliant shot stopper. Only just turned 22, so if I can keep a hold of him I'll let you know how he turns out.

Roly is the only nix player I have left and we just won the championship!!! He also got the league MVP. Come on PL!!! 6 seasons from bottom to top! But I have a feeling I will be back in the championship in a season or two as my club has given me no money to compete with :(

Perhaps, try loaning them to a Croatia team for 2 years to get an EU passport??

You risk those players becoming Mamic's bitch though...

Yea I've loaned them out around the place. Shark the epl is much tougher than the other leagues. The good teams just smash me every time. Managing to take points of Spurs and Liverpool has been good though. Fudgein Bournemouth won it last year and are dominating again this year! Wtf.
