I went for a revenge of my last carrer so did the same (simulating most matches with the Nix but playing with NZ) but instead of playing in the A-League I started in EFL 2. Made the team basically a factory of kiwis to make the best possible AW side. Only managed to get promoted to the Premier League in season 2021/22 right before the WC.

doing a similar thing in league 2. However, I wanted to keep as many nix players as i could as well. But 4 games into the first season, Krishna and Rossi threw their toys and left, then ridenton and singh suffered season long injuries. ffs. But I signed brocks and musa for free which aint bad.

After five seasons the only original Nix players I had were Singh, Ridenton, Philip and Cacace and Singh was the only starter. Is kind of hard trying to keep them as you constantly need to be improving your team.

Also I would say sign Themi in your first season. He's way better than both Rossi and Durante. If you train Fox too by the second season you can have a great pair of CBs

Thanks for the themi tip, ill try and get him in the next window. I ended up getting in Brown (young kiwi CB) before the window closed and due to injuries in the midfield, hes been playing a lot a DM. hes doing ok, but he's on a 52 rating.

Has anyone noticed that the amount of own goals has gone up in fifa18? I've only played through the journey story and started my current manager mode and I've already scored 2 oggies and the opposition has scored 5. Just ridiculous and hilarious.

Lost 1-0 to Victory in the final, Emana scored for them, Victory sold him to Frankfurt the next transfer window had a ridiculous window sold my first choice keeper for 10mil and then sold his replacement for 7 mil, top of the league with 40 points i think.

Started a nix career mode and so far have had great success. First of all I signed Tim Payne and Alex Susnjar from the free agents. Tim has been excellent alongside Ridenton and Alex is a young Aussie cb with good potential. So far I am undefeated in the league, have played about 20 games. In the transfer window I signed Ibini from the whitecaps to replace Kaluderovic and Birighitti to replace Velaphi who have both been great. Dominating the league, am about 15 points infront of 2nd place Sydney. Singh has been very good, is 68 rated now and top scorer in the league with 12 goals at the moment. Also Cacace has been brilliant, only 60 rated but has been very good.

ffs. This glitchy game strikes again. Not only do i never see any of the players bodies during the cut scenes and goal celebrations(i just see hollow shirts talking to each other and running around) But now I've got to Dec in my season with the nix in the EFL 2 and the game freezes when i load the next match. what a fudgeing joke.

Won the final in season 4 5-0 over the Mariners(Monty scored 4 goals) had are massive transfer window(Monty went to Hoffenheim for 15 Mil and Adam Armstrong( who scored 22 goals that season) for 6 mil, Signed Chris Wood for that much, he scored 4 goals in a 6-2 win over Perth in his first match(which was also the first game of the season).

Makes me feel happy I bought FIFA 18 for the slightly inferior Nintendo Switch, not only the custom game engine is free of crappy glitches but I can play it on the go anywhere I want while my PS4 just sits in the lounge sucking the dust. Can't wait for the World Cup update, can't believe they're giving it for free. Didn't think EA would have the heart to pull it off.

Good to see they are adding teams that are not in the world cup, would be great to win the world cup with NZ.

Because they know they can make more money off the increased number of  microtransactions than they would make by selling it. An unfortunate tactic :(

what is the switch like as a gaming device?

Its simple to use compared to the PS4 and the menus are very quick to load. Its convenient as a gamer as it gives you flexibility of playing the games when the Mrs needs the TV when or you are on the go. When you take the Switch out of the dock its ready to use straight away no messing about, likewise if you want to use it on the TV.

I like the Joycons as they allow much more freedom when playing games like having your hands to your side with half a controller in each hand, though you can also use them like a normal controller with joycon grip. I also have the Switch Pro controller which is like a regular Xbox one controller that I use when its docked.

Battery life is around 4 hours depending on the game, brightness and if wifi is turned on.

The graphics are on par or slightly better than PS3 depending on which games you play.

The downsides are Nintendo's online network capability as there is no party chat or friends system baked in to the system for games such as FIFA to utilize. Though there is an online service coming out towards the end of the year, Nintendo traditionally don't have a clue on how to get online gaming working like Sony and Microsoft.

The amount of storage it comes with is also small at 32gb so if you want to download games from the online store make sure you have a decent size microsd card 128gb+.

FIFA 18 for Switch generally has bad reviews because it is compared to the other consoles and doesn't have the Journey story mode (which I couldn't care about) and Frostbite engine (which is actually a pro due to the glitches and wonder goals). Its more arcade than the others and plays like FIFA 17/16 but it is the best portable FIFA game. If EA spent the time to craft the game properly for Switch it would get rave reviews but thats EA for ya.

Also the Switch has Football Manager Touch if your into that.

Just started a new career mode. Made all of the new transfers in the real life A-League, so guys like Paracki, AK9, Rossi gone and Ridenton at the Jets and Ljujic off in Portugal. Also transferred in Howiseon, Payne, Gulley, Hudson-Wihongi  to start off with so I could have enough players.

May restart it and stick it up on YouTube for people to watch and follow since I enjoy doing that sort of thing and have some spare time. Could be quite interesting

Would definitely tune in mate!

I was wondering what the ratings of the Phoenix trialists would be once they sign, plus a few other guys, considering the ratings of some guys already in game (Howieson 63/69, de Jong 58/66, Gulley 60/63, Payne 62/65). What do you think of the following guys?

JH Sinclair 59/66

Callan Elliott 53/68

TAHW 60/65

Calvin Harris 56/73
