Only one player from the A League. 2 players from PSV alone.

I thought Arnie said Australia's domestic league was now stronger than the Eredivisie.

Looks like Martin Boyle is going to make his debut. He's Scottish, never actually set foot in Australia but eligible through his dad born in Australia. Scotland weren't interested, but good wide player, could be useful for them with Arzani out.

Sth Korea up 1-0 at HT.

Long ball, defensive error by Sainsbury, goal.

Socceroos dominating possession.

Sorry but the in studio female presenter with Channel Ten is cringeworthy awful.

Seems like whenever free to air coverage is not by SBS, it’s a drop in standard. ABC did a terrible job of Sydney vs Liverpool a few years ago.

That was a full strength Socceroo squad up against Sth korea B side and they were lucky to get the draw, Koera should have won it 4 nil.

Not sure if Korea B, though know they were missing their 2 big name EPL players.

Still it’s a fabrication to say they should have won 4-0!!

Oz had 23 shots to 4 by Korea!

However finding goals without Cahill & Jedinak is going to be a big challenge for Arnie. He would die to have Chris Wood.

Socceroo's should win this one easy. Lebanon haven't lost a game since 2016 I think.

They lost 1-0 to Kuwait in October. AWs would have given Socceroos a harder game. A November window AWs side that is.

Still I guess Lebanon provide similar opposition to likes of Jordan and Palestine who are in Australia’s pool at the Asian Cup. Other pool opponents Syria should be a step up.

Leckie nice volley. 3-0

Simon Hill saying the Socceroos, would find stiffer competition more useful this close to the Asian Cup, than the Omanis who are poor.

Suggest an AWs side drawn from the European & MLS/USL pros plus Brockie etc - would be doing better. Probably get a bigger crowd if played in Dubai in front of a few thousand expats too. Not feasible for a lot of reasons I know, but well overdue for a trans tasman clash.

To take my fairytale idea further. He's a NZ side of players not playing club football this week (or out injured), who could be running around in Dubai v Australia right now -

Brockie, Rojas, Boyd, Howieson, Tuiloma, Wynne, McGarry, M Boxall, Themi, Smith, Marinovic.

Bench - Bevan, Collier, Dyer, Payne, Musa, Kyle Adams, Cory Brown, N Boxall, Woud,

Not the worst ever AWs side. Only two "shamateur" players

I know the Aussie coach is all for a NZ v Aus match, Its just a matter of when not where.

A little secret I actually wrote an email to Mr Arnold, 'begging' for him to give the AWs a game a few months ago.

Had a guess at his email address, from looking at other staffers email addresses on FFA site. Email never rebounded so hoping he got it!

I'm sure Arnie enjoyed getting an email from some NZ football fan nutter. He has nothing better to do that read random emails.

I did make a reference to his 1980's perm, and Grant Turner's fantastic header at SCG in 1981! Hopefully he or his PA appreciated the attempted humour!

If there's an AWs v Socceroos game in 2019 - I'm taking the credit.

Player dissatisfaction by the sound of it. Been in the job since 2014, after previous coach was sacked due to a player revolt.

So it ain’t just an issue in NZ.

Still surprising, as the Matildas have been doing well (beating Japan, Brazil and drawing with USA). They are being trumpeted as a genuine chance at the World Cup in France. Ranked 6th by FIFA on women’s rankings.
