That's what they said in Germany 1933 and Cambodia in 1975....

Are you seriously equating Nazi Germany and the Khmer Rouge with the world youth wanting leadership from politicians on climate change?

Just saying children have tended to stink when it comes to politics.  But yeah, ok, whatever...I'm willing to be browbeaten by a bunch of 12 year old children over climate change.

Respectfully, you can take views like that elsewhere. Especially today of all days.

Equating a younger generation peacefully protesting a lack of action of climate change with literal nazism is horrific and this website isn't a platform for you to spread views like that.

Eh? Bit of an over-reaction yourself isn't it? I thought he moved to the center with his response. I was thinking about starting a 'climate' thread in 'off-topic' as I would love to understand more what the objection really is.

Absolutely zero to do with politics. They're protesting all parties and in fact society as a whole failing them and robbing their future.

They have no state but still have an estimated 20,000 members spread around Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon. Good that they have no strong hold but will be a lot of work still to defeat then

Loved the item on TV one news Friday night about the school's climate change protest. They started a chant....what do we want? climate change...when do we want it now! So are they actually in favour of climate change? I found it so funny

Climate change could go both ways. They could want a change back, reversing the damage that's already been done.

Human's have affected the climate for sure, but there is also the natural cycle of mother nature. Ice Age etc.

There are natural cycles but what we're seeing is unprecedented change directly linked directly to human activity. Small natural change over thousands of years is one thing, rapid and catastrophic change over hundreds is another.

The people who are spreading disinformation about climate change so that those with blinkers on can justify their way of life are criminals.

True. Or the ones that went on the protest just contributed to climate change by creating more hot air...while the ones who might fix it stayed in school to learn...

No, because by the time they graduate it will be too late. They protested because change needed to happen a long time ago, we've literally thrown away their future and the viability of civilisation as we know it.
