Terrific footballer until a couple of years ago. Great speed and a decent bag of tricks, too!

He has an Aussie passport now, so could see him picking up a squaddie deal at one of the bigger clubs who have to deal with ACL games.

CCM needs better than a 33 year old bench player.

THE Newcastle Jets' marquee position is vacant after the club confirmed on Wednesday that Venezuelan midfielder Ronny Vargas will not be retained next season.

The 32-year-old creative spark is one of six players alongside fellow import Jair, Wanderers-bound fullback Daniel Georgievski, home-grown utility Nick Cowburn and fringe players Kwabena Appiah and Jake Adelson to be released.

Talks with in-form striker Roy O'Donovan are continuing and the club is confident of retaining the Irishman.

I imagine he will be taking a pay cut, but getting two years out of it, not one.

Yeah I would think they won't expect much out of him in that second season & he will be able to run plenty of Glory endorsed coaching camps for kids to line the pockets even more.

Rumours aplenty that Sturridge could be a marquee in the a league next season. Would be huge if true

Surely having a laugh, there's no way the A-League could afford an EPL regular international striker in his prime years regardless of recent injuries.

Guest for Fowler on loan? 6 games or something.

Depends what his motivation is, does he want to do a cash grab or does the prospect of a 30 game season and 6 months on the beach appeal to him?

In the build up to the City/CCM game last night, they said that Western United was chasing Birighitti to be there starting Keeper. Maybe they have missed out on Kurto & he is heading back to Europe instead?

He has only 14 games in the last 2 seasons. In pre-season there was talk he was gonna retire cuz his knee was fubar, so its a big risk.

What's happening with Franjic? Going to Adelaide and completing the circle?

I guess Atkinson would be back up for Franjic at RWB, he can also play as a wide forward. I guess this will put a end to DIngham's plans of forcing a Glory move.

Mark Reason's latest article says similar things as well. Either he's got an inside source that no-one else has, or he's making the assumption that they have both signed on the dotted line 100%.

Interesting that Reason also says that Singh's and Rudan's relationship had 'deteriorated' towards the end of the season, but I'm taking that with a rather large grain of salt.

Note the big bold "Opinion" at the start. Probably his way of spurting a whole lot of bullshark and getting away with it
