Not much but there's a small selection of highlights in the video in this article. Conveniently called "Mark Bosnich says Sarpreet Singh is the best player in the A-League right now". Also had one of the cleanest megs I've seen, which is up on the A-League's Instagram and Twitter accounts

Don't forget Mark Bosnich is an idiot. Singh is not the best player in the A-League, he may the best young player at the moment. It's just hyping some player to get some talking points. We all know since a while how good Singh is and it's clear that he will gets even better.

But comments 'best A-League player', 'like Messi' are just over the top...Messi played first team Barca and Argentina at that age.

Yeah it's clear Bozza's trying to start a few stories, but tbh Singh for me is clearly the best young player in the league, and his playstyle was very Messi-like in confidence and dribbling style vs. the Roar

He is the best young player in the A League that is living up to his potential. I just think there is much more for him to show us. And that is a pleasant surprise.I hope he makes no decisions on his own future until that of the Phoenix has been decided. I'd love to see a team developed around him.

I suspect he might end up being too good for the A League LG, so staying with us might not be the best option for him. As long as he doesn't go to another A League side, I'll be ok if he moves to better himself.

Any young standout player in the A League, is highly likely to eventually head overseas - not just a problem for the Nix.

Just enjoy Singh while we can.

A-League Young Footballer of the Year.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-League_Young_Footb...

Of this list, nearly all of them went overseas almost immediately after winning the award. Jamieson was the odd one out hanging around in Oz for a few more seasons, before going to Sweden.

Some returned and are still in Australia (Oar, Taggart & Jamieson).

Some returned to the A League for sometime but then went back overseas - Leijer & Ward are still playing in Asia I see.

And some have forged successful careers overseas - Jeggo, Maclaren & Ryan.

Arzani too early to stay. Then there is Rojas!

We all hope.

Ill say this- at times his movement was Broich-like!

This is Sarpreet’s first nomination and the first time that a player from Wellington Phoenix has been nominated for the NAB Young Footballer of the Year.

He didn't win any of the 6 Player of the Month awards. When he made the team of the week a couple of times around January, they awarded it to Wales instead (who never made one all season).

When I said in 25 words as to whyI voted Singh to enter their $5,000 competition, I kept getting error messages, saying the phone number was wrong. Typical Aussies, won't even let us try and win their money.

why even bother having a Nix player in the mix if his team's fans can't vote?

You can vote without having to write the 25 words. The 25 words is just if the person voting wants to go in draw to win $500 themsel

He is also 24 now, it feels strange to vote a player that age as the 'Young Player of The Season'.

With Sapreet off to the u20wc how would we feel if he got sold off to an overseas club? A year to early or take the money and let him go?

A year too early. What is the deal here with transfers? Do clubs get any money if they leave the league?

Yes there is transfer fees if the players head off to clubs overseas, there is only no transfer fees between A-League clubs, which is why you always see "Mutual Termination" for those transfers instead.

I can’t see Singh staying here past next season when his deal runs out. Surely there would be interest from Europe by then if not already.

“If” he has a seriously good U20 WC and a “if” a Euro offer comes in, he’ll be gone before next season.

Begs the question, would it better to lose him now for a nice pile of money now, or have him for another season?

Depends if we're gonna exist beyond next season

Am happy for him and Cacace to be transferred to bigger and better things... but i would hope that any money made was reinvested into getting better imports etc.

Not sure either are anywhere near good enough to survive overseas yet. In another year? Maybe, who knows.

I think they are both already most certainly good enough to play in Europe, but as Thomas and Boyd (and Rojas) have shown, success overseas is more about mentality than technical ability.

Disagree; Cacace's first touch is not good enough, and Singh drifts in and out of games too much. Both can improve next season.

Of course, Europe is a big place and they could play in the Swedish 2nd div. Just thinking if they want to get to Thomas' level, they've got a lot of work to do.

Clubs may pick them up with an eye to the future and blooding them in... both have good experience relative to their age with huge upswing potential.

I read the other day that he is the quickest player at the NIX... now thats impressive!

Singh did not shine when Rudan reverted to playing deep with five at the back and two defensive midfielders. However, when we played a more structured game he was very good. It will be interesting to see how he goes at the Under 20 World Cup.

Considering there are only 2 players at the Nix, that may be factually correct now

What I meant is that they both appear to have the potential to play in Europe and could probably both get contracts at a decent level, even if they were not immediately first team - my main point was on mentality being just as, if not more important, than technical ability. And in terms of having a lot of work to do to make it overseas, that I agree with.

This is all pretty amazing, number 10 is pretty sweet. I think they would not signed him if they don't think he could break through the first team, remember, we are talking about 1st team Bayern Fricking Muenchen! The reserve team does not have many non german players, pretty special.

It seems like they signed him to replace the other number 10 who just stepped up to the first team (20 years old); so it's certainly possible.

Either way, having Bayern Munich on his CV is going to make getting gigs for the rest of his life a lot easier.

Last seasons kit. Word on the radio is $500,000 to the Nix and a 3 year deal for Singh. brilliant for the lad and an opportunity to learn a hell of a lot.from some seasoned professionals. Living the dream. Good on him. If there's any decent Bayern players wishing to try our lifestyle down here......
