José will continue to focus on his New Zealand Football roles, including the New Zealand U-17s as they prepare for the FIFA U-17 World Cup later this year.

That and his wife is about to have another child, I don't think its likely.

especially as that comment has obviously been added by Team Wellington afterwards

Remember Jose was ACFC youth team coach and also won the Northern League with Central United before he came to Team Wellington

Saying that I don;t think he will end up with the Auckland City job

JOSÉ FIGUEIRA DEPARTS TEAM WELLINGTON

Team Wellington Head Coach, José Figueira, has announced that he will not be returning to the club for the upcoming season.

While not an easy decision, Figueira is confident the club can continue their success.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with Team Wellington – it’s a special environment to be a part of; the players, the staff, our partners and sponsors, supporters and all those connected with the club.

“Team Wellington has a strong culture both on and off the pitch and it’s one that makes this club so unique.

“During my three seasons with the club, it’s been great to see players develop and move on to other leagues, professional contracts and representing their country. That kind of progression is a true testament to the work ethic of the team and all that goes on behind the scenes.”

Figueira joined Team Wellington in 2016 and went on to manage the team in over 80 games across all competitions, including the ISPS Handa Premiership title for the 2016/17 season, an OFC Champions League title in 2018 and Team Wellington’s first FIFA Club World Cup appearance later that same year.

Club Chairman, Peter Chote, praised Figueira for his contribution to the club and the impact he has made on and off the field.

"Jose has certainly made a huge impression on the club.

“Not only his dedication to developing young players, but his playing philosophy and clear vision has enabled the club to achieve some fantastic honours during his time.”

Figueira said that after much thought and reflection, the time was right to move on to the next chapter of his career and life.

“I’ve experienced a lot during my career as a coach but to win the OFC Champions League Final in 2018 and qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup is something I will never forget.

“It was a special moment to help lead the club to their first ever FIFA Club World Cup appearance and the performance by the team in that match, coming so close, is one I am so proud of.

“Balancing the demands of football, both domestically and internationally with being involved in the New Zealand set up, while having a young and growing family is always challenging.

“There never really feels like a right time to leave, but I leave with so many great memories.

“I would like to thank everyone in our Team Wellington community. The players and staff who have become like family and our incredible supporters that have shared the journey with us, even some travelling around the world, have made a lasting impression.”

Chote said while Figueira will be missed, it gives the club an opportunity to start the new season with a fresh outlook.

“It’s an end of an era for Team Wellington with his departure but an exciting time for the club to rebuild in the upcoming season.

"I would like to thank José for everything he has done during his tenure, and on behalf of the club, partners, sponsors, and supporters wish him and his family, all the very best for the future.”

** José Figueira will be still based in Wellington as he and his family look forward to welcoming their second child. José will continue to focus on his New Zealand Football roles, including the New Zealand U-17s as they prepare for the FIFA U-17 World Cup later this year

TEAM NEWS | ? José Figueira departs Team Wellington.

? “I would like to thank everyone in our Team Wellington community.

The players and staff who have become like family and our incredible supporters that have shared the journey with us, even some travelling around the world, have made a lasting impression.” José Manuel Figueirafollowing the announcement of his departure.

What a journey it has been!

On behalf of the club, partners, sponsors, and supporters we wish you and your family, all the very best for the future.

Scott has been part of the TeeDubs coaching set-up for the past few years, most recently as assistant to Jose. He also coaches Miramar's Central league team. So has been around and knows the players, which should help with retention/recruitment. And like I said, is also a genuinely good guy.

Not sure if this is the right place for this but Eric Molloy  just scored against Chelsea to secure a draw. Looks like he is on trial.

But in the final minute of the game, trialist Eric Molloy lashed in a leveller for Bohemians - Had to look them up - Dublin?.

yes from Dublin - there are 2 clubs called Bohemians in the world (well at least 2) the other is based in Prague and used to play in Europe a bit, think they went bust and reformed though.

Still the Irish lot have a good sense of humour - their website headline after the game was "Chelsea hold Bohs to a draw"

Err, so is the gist of it.... Team Welly wanted to change the parameters for the 2nd year of the agreement....Capital cant accept that & have therefore withdrawn, handing it all back to Team Welly (who will do a fair & rigorous selection process from the Miramar players as always ;-) ... is that right?

"Unfortunately, during last week TW have advised CF that they are now no longer willing to complete the second year of the agreement."

"subsequently the Board has written to TW informing them that given the proposed change in parameters explained to CF that unfortunately we would not be able to continue & therefore were notifying TW that CF was withdrawing from the arrangement."

Both statements in Richard Reids press Statement?

A little confusing.

In the ever rotating circle of clubs and Team Wellington, TW announce they are joining forces with Ole.

Where does this leave Miramar? They might actually be able to compete for CL next season.

No Change for Miramar:  TeeDubs Press Release

"Logistically, this will see a return to the approach taken back in the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons which saw Olé Football Academy sponsor and manage the Team Wellington National Youth League Team."

"Olé Football Academy Technical Director, Ben Sippola said the relationship with Team Wellington was one that made sense for football in the region.

“This partnership will be great for young players across the Wellington region.

“We look forward to working with Scott Hales and the entire Team Wellington organisation to ensure we put a good product on the football pitch.” "

So is Declan no longer involved with Ole? He's just taking care of the Swedish side of things? Wasn't he the sticking point for Ole -TW before? His way or the highway. Has this now changed?
