No Change for Miramar:  TeeDubs Press Release

"Logistically, this will see a return to the approach taken back in the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons which saw Olé Football Academy sponsor and manage the Team Wellington National Youth League Team."

"Olé Football Academy Technical Director, Ben Sippola said the relationship with Team Wellington was one that made sense for football in the region.

“This partnership will be great for young players across the Wellington region.

“We look forward to working with Scott Hales and the entire Team Wellington organisation to ensure we put a good product on the football pitch.” "

So is Declan no longer involved with Ole? He's just taking care of the Swedish side of things? Wasn't he the sticking point for Ole -TW before? His way or the highway. Has this now changed?

Declan's still involved with Ole, but is based in Sweden

TW also announced Ben Sippola and Jamie Dunning (Napier Marist) as assistant coaches to Scott Hales today

This is a good signing. He has been excellent when I have seen him play.

Bet there are a few Canterbury United people pissed at this.

There will be many more players leaving Canterbury United because Willie isn't coaching the Dragons anymore.

Most of the players that Willie brought into Christchurch to play for the Dragon's are no longer in Christchurch - most off shore playing.

Are you saying that clubs are asked to put forward nominations to TW? No idea if they are but would seem strange.

so won't that be a conflict of interest - not dissimilar to his complaints about Steve Coleman who was coaching Lower Hutt while working for the Phoenix Academy, when they were with Wellington United?

Team Wellington sign former Scottish Premier League Defender, Rory McKeown.

A Northern Ireland age-group International and recent Greenock Morton FC player, we're looking forward to having Rory join the team!

The internet has plenty on him.  Massive signing.  Still a great age too, not in his thirties as other players that come here of this caliber are.  wounder if he will play left back or be pushed more central?

Grennock Morton haven't been in the SPL since the 1980s (the article says they are one of the older SPL clubs), although he was at Kilmarnock for a while

spoke to a friend who watches Raith Rovers, where he played 72 games

he reckons he was a good solid player who chipped in with goals now and again

more than capable in Scottish Championship (which was where Raith were when he was playing for them)

Sounds like a really good catch. Although you wonder how one goes from sitting on the bench for a WC qualifier in 2013 to semi-pro in NZ in 2019 - still, very excite to see him play.

Can we also have Roy Kayara back please? Such a good player!

Not all clubs. I think Alloa and Arbroath aren't. I think Morton are.

Tbh living in Wellington semi-pro and picking up a part time job would be a better lifestyle than playing fully professional for Morton on a small wage.

Did I read on the Nix v MarBubbles game that Stevens has signed for Southern for the upcoming season?
Anyone know why? Thought he was always a good performer - maybe a bit less so last season, but TW didn't do well as a whole and Joel came in after the Handy started following his Scandinavian adventure.

yes its about that - just a 1 round competition, probably the last year they will be playing it like this as well (more likely to go back to regional based comp if they don't just scrap it all together)
