Fonda may have had a topsy turvy career, but along with Dennis Hopper he made a film that changed Hollywood forever! For that alone he'll be remembered.

This was where my Mum first saw/liked what became my name... thankfully - I was looking for all money like being a John Smith.

A brilliant band that lasted barely 2 years i think. Enough time to produce magic! They really were "the cream" of talent...and temperament!

AKA "The Bald Eagle" was QPR manager for a time during the mid 80's. Did really well and had the team playing some great football which they completely forgot about during the 1985/86 Milk Cup Final when Oxford won 3-0. The same comp where Liverpool went out to QPR due to 2 Own Goals in the same semi final match by Liverpool and we also beat Chelsea too in the Q/F

Rick Bryant, ex-Wellington singer/ songwriter (Windy City Strugglers, Original Sin, Rough Justice, Jubilation Choir) and one time VUW English tutor.  His funeral was held yesterday at St Matthews of the City, Auckland. Big attendance of those Auckland rock & jazz musos still living plus a few up from Wellington. Actress Jennifer Ward-Lealand was the MC as well as singing in the Jubilation Choir and reading extracts of RB's letters, and an 8 piece band also performed 2 RB originals, the old Struggler song Snow on the Desert Rd, and Time. Brother Rod, ex Wngtn journo spoke as did author of NZ music tome Stranded in Paradise, John Dix. Actress Fiona Samuel read a poem from John Donne.

Absolute NZ sporting legend.

John Davies description of the track cinders flying up off Snell's shoes as he stormed to just win in Rome 1960.............what a great finishing kick he had. A real trademark of all 3 of his golds.

Love you Sy. The boys said they'd be playing for your tonight and they did right to the end.

That result is for you, I'm just sorry we couldn't watch one last game together as brothers.
