Great win. Score flattering to Adelaide, they were a distant second best today.

I'm sure there'll be some bitching about the pen, but a) there was contact, however minimal and b) it balances out the one where Davila should've had a pen but didn't go down.

My MOTM: Rufer, Davila, Libby. All played well, though.

Just absolutely deserved; we dominated most of the game.

Davila will be perhaps our best ever import if he continues like this for 2 years.

Good post-game interviews by Robbie Cornthwaite.  He said to David Ball that we played excellent football tonight.  Then he said to Mileusnic "that's not the Adelaide we came to expect, eh?".

Even Davila was good when he came on; sat alongside Rufer well, made a couple of crucial tackles and passed through the lines well. We just played really well as a unit today, and tactically got it spot on.

I'm a big fan of Cornflakes actually.

Even Slater is praising us, the sky is falling.

Sotirio gotta be a contender too- our only attacker who could square a ball in the box and find a team mate. Loved the crisp passing into Hooper and swift pin point distribution from him. Though we looked really good all game.

Just as a side note, we keep employing Aussie coaches and giving their young players opportunities. And now a hard-won win away, first this season. This might be part of the reason we do not hear the nonsense of "what does WPX bring to the league".

Cornthwaite would remember drubbing us a few times.

Wish we'd returned the favour, but happy with the win.

I was quite critical of davilla first few games but he had been brilliant now.  Probs to whoever found him.   If he was at anther a league club he would be talked about alot more.   Great win keep on going now

Don't think it's something to start with; Devlin came on for Piscopo quickly after that and sat in Steinmann's position. Looked a little uncomfortable at times, but generally did a good job.

It's an interesting choice if Hooper is fit. Sotirio is quite clearly important to the we play - without him, there's not a whole lot of pace up there.

Davila only had one bad game - his first. I can't remember a player who stepped up so quickly after such a poor start. Credit to him; perhaps the best in the league.

Great on both feet, can turn both sides because of that, great shot, great pens - has vision in spades and enough physicality for the league. Basically the perfect 10 for this league. I love Singh, but Davila is just as good and perhaps a more rounded player.

Uffies substitutions were spot on

Adelaide coach panicked at half time, Uffie waited it out - showed how the game was going; we dominated except for the first 10-15.

Absolutely the biggest improvement was in the middle with Rufer/Steinmann; that was the first time I've felt confident that we weren't going to get dribbled through.

He doesn't seem slow, but nothing like Sotirio.

Pretty much the complete performance though. Can't really think of anyone who had a bad game out there. Everything just clicked today and it was a pleasure to watch. Frustrating to go down 1-0 against the run of play, but super pleased with the character shown to come back and win it at probably one of our least favourite venues to visit.

What a performance!

I've been critical of Talay but he seems a solid coach, classy too.

The team has really improved and looks very confident now.

They can beat anyone. 3 points in arguably our hardest game of the season!

We looked really good tonight. We could have got a few more if some speculative passes had come off as well - the opposition can't get a foot in front of all of them...... Hooper is quietly building up to speed - they're really looking after him (and so far at not cost t the team in results). In the mean time Ball has shown what he can do and he constantly gets himself into those danger areas. We really do have some good attacking options that are all growing into the game (lie Ball, Davila, Sotirio, McCowatt and Hooper building up to match fitness while providing the scare factor as well) while the defensive end is settling nicely. Its going to be a very tight season. Perhaps we'll not be quite so far under the radar now....

Very solid indeed. Really starting to see what Uffie means about competition for places in this squad. Sure, there's a pretty clear central spine that I don't expect to be tinkered with too much as season wears on, but around that are seemingly lots of options for us to set up with different personell/tactics depending on opposition.

I love Cacace, but his sharkhousery is a bit embarrassing at times. It must irritate the fudge out of the opposition - the innocent schoolboy look won't work for very much longer. He's better than that.

Called it. It really was a complete performance. Not one player was below par today.

There were lots of little interesting tactical tweaks by Talay; I'm starting to feel more confident in him now. (2 wins will do that) The fact that we've seemingly sorted out the gaping hole in central midfield is a huge deal to our hopes going forward.

Disagree; we need more of that - and kiwi football does in general. We're too bloody nice. Every other team does it to us, and we wave them on through.

Reckon he wasted around 3-4 minutes in total, which could've been the difference between the 3 points and only getting 1. Didn't agree with doing it right at the death, only because that encourages A-League refs to not blow the whistle at the end of time.

Giving it to the crowd after Ball got his goal too. Hand's behind the ear's and looked like he said something as he did so. Great laugh. ? Just like at the U20WC against the Colombians. Good to see him get under people's skin

Yeah, look, I'm all for the hands behind the ears and giving a few well aimed verbal at crowd or opposition etc. I think I draw the line at the time wasting at throw ins, and marching 15 meters up the sideline from where ball went out. Seriously, how many of his cards last year and this have been for that shark? Just feels like a waste to me, that's all.

But, I take all your points - and I certainly won't be complaining when he carries on like that in the grand final when we're up 1-0. :)

I thought it was completely fine until the last one, but the camera caught Talay instructing him to do it - so, if anything, blame Ufuk I guess.

Agreed. Libby is a young player and if Talay thought this carry-on was not acceptable, you can bet your money Taylor would have chewed his ear off before Talay would have also had a word.  You can bet that this is all encouraged within reason.
