Eriksson among applicants for Jets job

https://www.ftbl.com.au/news/eriksson-among-applicants-for-jets-job-536189

Jets CEO Lawrie McKinna revealed some agents were sending in coaching clients' resumes even before the final whistle.

"After the third goal on Sunday night we had six CVs actually coming through during the game, which I think's quite rude," McKinna said on Tuesday.

"We'll be looking all over. And again, today, yesterday, the emails started coming through - phone calls started coming.

Potential banana skin for us. Clubs always do well in their first game or two with a new manager mid season.

Perhaps a fan of Kiwis?

Had Marinovic, Bevan, Wynne and Francis de Vries all in the Vancouver setup at one stage.

But yes under him Whitecaps had a very low possession game (similiar to Huddo at Rapids), remember big Stef making a few jokes about it.

Will be a massive contrast in styles then. A lot of player adjustment needed.

Jets' Chinese owner loses $5M a year currently and club is still for sale. Everything flows from this reality.

Will be the first real test for the independent A-League if he decides to hand back his licence

Maybe (in a week of Sundays) Slava Mein will make the next step and bid for the Jets licence to come to Christchurch. Would keep both the CCM fans, and C-Diddy, happy.

.... might need to change the name from the 'Jets' to 'Harvard Trainers', but other than that ....

Newcastle Jets can confirm that Lachlan Jackson suffered a serious knee injury in last Friday’s fixture away to Wellington Phoenix.

Jackson turned awkwardly in the turf midway through the first half, with scans in the following days confirming a rupture to his ACL, and tears to both his lateral meniscus and medial ligament.

The defender will now undergo reconstructive surgery and is set to miss an indefinite period.

I really feel for the guy, I hate to see players injured, but this was quite unique with it being just him and no one else involved. I wish him a full recovery.

Thats stretching things a bit to say he was worse, yeah some may have questioned Talays signing but dont recall to many saying it was a bad thing.Biggest criticisms were his lack of head coach experience.

Yep, which is why he'd be worse on paper than a guy who's coached in a similar environment but higher level.
