I'd be nervous going to India any time soon. I read somewhere forecast peak cases is not until mid August ie still 2 months away.

Can their health system cope?

I'm sure Roy and David Williams plus families, have a sort of luxury sheltered lifestyle, but still not a great feeling being in a country where sadly there will likely be thousands of deaths every day. Even if their League is still months away from starting.

Apparently he'll make a decision by next friday - at least he won't be anywhere in Australia.

Normally, I'd say you could bet on it but with India's foray into sports betting over the years, I'd lose my money.

Krishna club ATK merge with Mohun Bagan, allowing Mohun Bagan to play in the franchise based Indian Super League but means ATK can use their I-League spot to play AFC Cup

Looks like when the ISL returns in November will be as a centralised hub, sans fans.

The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic impacted the world of football along with other sports.

However, despite the challenges, the new season of the Indian Super League (ISL) is set to commence from the third week of November.

The new season will be different from the previous editions of the league in several ways. It will be held at a centralised venue without spectators. The clubs too will have to undergo major changes in terms of adapting to the new regulations.

Had wishfully hoped ISL might be cancelled, leaving Roy at a loose end!

Alas league will happen behind closed doors, solely in Goa.

Took Krishna 40 days to get from Fiji to India for the ISL, 30 of them were spent in hotel isolation.

Another game, another goal for our Roy.

Nice left footed strike from the edge of the 18 yard box as ATK Mohun Bagan claim a 2-0 win over rivals SC East Bengal.

Highlights here.

Really should say ATK Mohun Bagan as ATK by itself doesn't exist anymore. Besides that, the round-robin goes until March and is looking likely that they will be one of four teams that then also do a play off.

Then when they were ATK last season, they qualified for the group stage AFC Cup so will be playing as this new team in the competition. Group stage first games are at the end of May.

Unfortunately Krishna's team concedes in the 90th min to lose the Final 2-1. Williams with the goal for ATK.

Lost to Adam Le Fronde's Mumbai. Le Fronde to return now to Sydney FC? Was in India on a loan deal.

4 of the top 15 goal scorers in the ISL (regular season), were ex A League.

Krishna 14 goals (top), Le Fronde 11 (4th), Jordan Murray 7 (9th equal) & Hooper 5 (13th equal).

David Williams had 3 goals in regular season for ATK Mohun, but then another 3 in the playoffs.

Presume Hooper won't follow his mate Taylor, and be happy to play for peanuts (compared to likely what he's on in India) at the Nix. His team Kerala Blasters (2nd last), like Hopper's Odisha (last) were pretty shark.

A lot could change between now, and when the ISL restarts again later this year (India has actually nearly vaccinated 10% of it's popn already) - but you think Krishna, Williams and the like may consider a move back to the A League.

They have their AFC Cup Group games on the 14th, 18th & 20th May. Looks like they are based in the Maldives for it.  So no chance of a deadline day deal to bring them back.

For what it's worth, I see he has started the new ISL season well, with a goal in each of the first 2 games. 2 comfortable wins.

David Williams still there with him at ATK Mohun Bagan

ATK Mohun Bagan currently 5th in the 11 team ISL, after 7 games.
Krishna 3 goals, and David Williams 1 goal.

Williams scored against Mumbai City, who gave Mohun Bagan a 5-1 hiding.

Mumbai City are coached by old mate Des Buckingham, and he has them currently 1st on the ISL table.

Last season Mumbai finished 1st after the regular season (edging Mohun Bagan on GD) and also beating them in the Championship Final.

Confirmed on a 1 year deal, tho some places think it's a 1+1 deal. If that's true, that second season option might have been a deciding factor in his decision.

Has he (or any other Indian player currently playing for that matter) ever had a run in a club outside India? I guess that’s a downside with the money in the league, it possibly doesn’t encourage top players to challenge themselves? Though the Indian team is improving?
