Yeah. 3-5 finish

Wainui #14 red carded after the final whistle

Is he the striker? I imagine it changes the complexion of the tie if he is out

From what I've heard the player sent off was on the bench and had not taken part in the game.

Will only change the complexion of the tie if its a chirping contest. 14 was a pest in that department both times I watched Wainui this year.

How much of a financial jump is it from prem to central league? Will Wainui have to raise their bar prices should they make it?

Based on 2019 financial results, they are in a better financial position than some current Central League Clubs i.e North Wellington.

And they have meat raffles. What's not to like? (Changing rooms/bunkers aside)

Total club spend in CL would be loads more than Prem. It is pretty ridiculous really.

I heard they are changing there name to Wainuiomata City next year if they get promoted, and they have a backer putting in a couple hundred grand?! Don’t know how true it is though.

Definitely mob. The game I went to at wainui they were at the driveway taking gate fees of $5. Had the two young ones with me so haggled him down to 3 for $10. They drive a hard bargain though I tell ya.

Could imagine wellington united would be interested in supporting as if Wainui win then united stay in prems?

FYI - Wainui have put out a request if you are intending to go the game on Saturday to please not park inside the park grounds, so that the New Plymouth supporters and players etc. have space to park their vehicles and buses etc.

I will be going over early, was speaking to a local and the Club is expecting over 800 people.

There will be alot of piss drunk when Wainui are officially promoted!

yea 800 sounds about right. I think its the mobs agm at prouse that day so a fair bit of barking/cheering going on most likely.

I'd say New Plymouth will bring the taranaki hardcore with them. Can see a Tawa repeat happening here.

Nope, definitely seemed to be #14. Guy who looks like the sort of guy you’d cast as an innocent wannabe baker if you were making a movie about fantastic beasts and where to find them.

He had quite a bemused and incredulous look on his face when he realised it was him getting thecard

Interestingly New Plymouth only had 3 subs at home - one of which was unused.
Wainui on the other hand had 5 and used three of them.

I thought that very much would have been the other way around!

Not a good sign for New Plymouth.

Anyone know what’s happening with the new central league/national league structure? Heard it’s top 3 central league will become National League clubs  for the 2021/22 season is this true?

NZF are proposing a Champions league format.

Central, Southern and Northern play in their respective winter comp April - September. Then I think top 2 or 3 move into a National league playoff comp October through December.

Club based not franchise league..Bravo...

I see that Wainui is advertising for a first team coach. What happened to this year's successful coach?

Suspect it has to do with coaching qualification requirements for the Central League.

Speaking of Central League coaches, Scott Hales has been appointed as Miramar Rangers coach for the next season.

I’m not too sure on that - but thought he had sat his C licence anyway

Some coaches got a dispensation as they hadn't been able to finish their coaches due to the lockdown for Covid, but they only got the dispensation if they had already started the course. Opposition teams were advised if the coach had a dispensation the only one I was aware of was Vic Uni's who has since qualified

In before the Superclub? Might see similar moves happening at other clubs affiliated with national league franchises.

I heard he wasn't coaching next season as he wanted to play footy again.
