I see that Wainui is advertising for a first team coach. What happened to this year's successful coach?

Suspect it has to do with coaching qualification requirements for the Central League.

Speaking of Central League coaches, Scott Hales has been appointed as Miramar Rangers coach for the next season.

In before the Superclub? Might see similar moves happening at other clubs affiliated with national league franchises.

He has to earn his winter salary somehow

Rumors' abound that Wainui have come to the realization that they can't fill their team for Central League this year so have come to an agreement with Ole Academy for them to fill the team for the season.

If this is true, that's insane, a bit sad for a club with Wainuis proud history and conversely you'd have to be absolutely f**king spewing if you were New Plymouth.

Hah. I had forgotten about that. It's a bit of footballception!

New Plymouth play Wainuiomata in the Central League play off and lose.

New Plymouth partner up with Ole Academy for youth development.

Wainuiomata essentially pull out of Central League in place of Ole.

Can you play for a Central Regional team and in the Central League?

Oh maybe you mean this.

Players are signed from the perspective of NZF/Feds to a club, not a team. They may play for (any eligible, I.e age) teams in that club so long as the individual player does not breach rules  about playing down in other divisions.

Players can only move clubs prior to end of June; they have to remain with that club till end of the national/championship phase.

These are amateur competitions; there is no concept of.going "on loan". You're signed on to one club.

With regard to NPR 'spewing'...well, they had the opportunity to beat Wainui and weren't good enough.

However, _If_ it is true I'd be concerned about the integrity of the competition than how NPR felt.

Worth dropping a C-note on the result late in the season with Wainui safe and Suburbs pushing for the title?

Maybe I'm cynical.

Would I have the same concern had NPR been promoted? Probably not. The difference would be they will have Taranaki kids being taught the Ole way as a fully independent club, not kids from two 'clubs' training together all week in Porirua then half of them going over the hill on Saturdays.

So If Ole takes the Central league slot won by Wainui what grade do the Wainui players who won promotion get to play?

Most of them have left/didn't want to play CL, hence Ole swooping in

This is what interests me, do Wests/Ole have enough depth to fill two CL teams and a Cap Prem team? Their Cap Prem team has never done particularly well?

I heard they are changing there name to Wainuiomata City next year if they get promoted, and they have a backer putting in a couple hundred grand?! Don’t know how true it is though.

did you mean changed their name to Wests?

That has to be their highest finish in CP of some time though yeah? One more loss too and they would have been 5th.

I mean... one more win and they would have finished 2nd - not quite sure what you are trying to say?

But just to be clear, the players will all be signed to Wainui and not Wests players. As stated above, they can't be loaned. I know this is potentially just an administrative process but would Wests want this?

Wests don't get much say in it, as far as i can tell. Ole players will be registered with a single club, in this case, Wests or Wainui.

Wests have had a team in Cap Prem since 2016 and have finished 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 4th & 3rd

last years league was a bizzare one - only 13 points covered 1st to 8th place. Wellington United had the second best defensive record (24) but finished 8th, while Wainui had the second worst defensive record (41) and won the league!

So what grade will the "real Wainui team"  play in?

Wainui reserves current play in capital 4.

From what I understand a lot of the non-import players have left the club. A few of the older lads who have been at Wainui for some time now are also starting a social team in a lower grade.

What we have now is a number of clubs in name only. Wests, puppets of Ole who are told what to do but have the potential to be a top club in their own right without being dictated to by Ole. Then we have Lower Hutt who ran to The Nix because they were going broke and previously Wellington United who also had financial woes then being taken over  by The Nix.

Now we have Wainui who's culture is a far as you can get from Ole but are happy with being taken over by Ole. It's a strange football world in Wellington

So if Wainui can't put a team in the CL. Then the NP team in the play off get first option. There is no way Ole/wests should be given an additional playing platform for their kids who are bottle nicking.

The game in Wellington is becoming 'if your face fits with CF, they will do summersaults to make it work for you'....Joke

I mean- wests highest non-ole team is also cap 4. I would suggest, on the balance of things,  wests probably are ok with how their partnership with ole has worked out for them?
