I was in a Oaxaca, Mexico hostel and watched that 2022 qualifier Peru beating Colombia in Barranquilla, against the odds. I have Peruvian family, and there was a young Colombian football fan working in the hostel. He was crestfallen, cursing their inability to score. False Qatar WC hopes for Peru, losing to the Socceroos and the grey wiggle's antics a few months later.

I remember he said something along the lines that Colombians feel James Rodriguez has never met the expectations he promised back at that 2014 Brazil WC, as a young kid. Now he's the experienced old head captain, playing in Liga MX.
