The stuff article... really you have to think about if you want the job or not? It's a hard job that plenty of people would leap at. For me he can jog on after reading that.

FFS he's literally been home 5 mins. What's he supposed to say after a highly emotional Playoff game like that. The loss will be very very raw for the coaching staff and players. They were oh oh so close to going to the big dance in November. This wasn't Mexico or Peru, this is a playoff they so nearly won, or at minimum took to pens.

With the previous November playoffs most AWs were back playing for their club the next week. Life quickly moved on. But this time most of the guys are out of season, and will have way too much time to stew over this one. It will sting for awhile & then be revisited all over again when WC kicks off. Tony Vidmar Socceroos captain against Uruguay in 2001 IC playoffs, burst into tears leaving the Montevideo pitch, wondering if he'll ever get to a World Cup. Losing really hurts with these games. So many what ifs to dwell over.

For the last 12 months (going back to Tokyo) Hay's whole life has revolved around this 1 game. Couple of 2 week stretches in sharkty MIQ (thank fudge those days are over), long periods away from family. Taking some time out to think about what he wants to do next, is only perfectly natural.
