Let’s hope NZF are smart and non biased with their squad selection and there is a good balance of local and o/seas based players (US colleges/USL, foreign clubs) and not just saturated with Weenix players who have only been playing in the Central League which has slowly digressed over the last 2yrs years, potentially due to lots of players leaving our shores to seek better football opportunities.
I think that some players that I saw during OFC qualifiers will really struggle against quality international opposition due to a lack of game quality in NZ and including against the likes of Oceania and China.
I would like to see NZF looking to arrange more games against quality opposition to help with the development of NZ football.
