Fair call on the standard he is at in Italy, but probably still better than what he would be challenged with here in NZ?

Not prolific when here in NZ, but neither is Karunatane (spelling sorry). He had no goals or assists last year for the Wee Nix, but I don't think anyone is doubting his ability.

I don't know Garbett personally, merely relaying the thoughts of age group parents who saw the local training sessions and were all pretty shocked by his omission.

Garbett to make it.
From what I have heard, there was a fair level of shock he didn't make the initial squad and pretty much made all the u20 fullbacks look 2nd rate.
Given his success in Italy, he'd be hard to leave out.

A front four (1 and 3) of Donkers up top with Garbett, Herdman and Karunatane playing in front of him is pretty tasty in terms of skills and movement IMO.

What has Garbett achieved in Italy? I could be wrong but don't think he is playing at a particularly high standard. Certainly achieved next to nothing in Cap Prem and Central League when local....maybe two or three goals over two seasons! Surname will help though!
I travelled to watch the All Whites at MtSmart and managed to catch the second half of NZ 23s game when Karunatane came on. I thought he was very one paced and very basic in play. Maybe that suits a team somwhere but to be honest i thought he was your average joe. Good on him if hes got some where. probably works hard at his trade.
