Round 11 Fixtures: Thursday 28th - 7:30pm Christchurch United vs. Ferrymead Bays Friday 29th Midday Coastal Spirit vs. Nelson Suburbs - Linfield 2:30pm Dunedin City Royals vs. Nomads - Tahuna Park 2:45pm FC Twenty 11 vs. Cashmere Technical - Avonhead Park 3:00pm Selwyn vs. Universities of Canterbury - Foster Park
FT Nelson Suburbs 4 (Lennon Whewell 3, Ben Polak) FC Twenty 11 2 (George Siddells, Ari Johnson) HT 1 - 2
Oh no, I was hoping Suburbs could throw the game, Twenty11 have had a hell of a season
You gotta have some stats on that AW82, does it rival Richmond FC circa 2008??
Longest losing run in the old Mainland Premier League was 22 in the first season when Woolston WMC lost every game, then followed by Richmond - 20 in 2008, Avon - 19 over the 2005 - 2006 seasons.
At the moment FC are sitting on 21 games without a point.
Been advised the due to an issue with the lights at English Park, tonight's English Cup Quarter Final between Cashmere Technical and Nomads has been postponed.
League takes a break for a week for Chatham Cup games with top of the table clash the key fixture in Round 12: Saturday - 13 July 2pm Ferrymead Bays vs. Dunedin City Royals 2:45pm Cashmere Technical vs. Coastal Spirit Nomads vs. FC Twenty 11 Sunday - 14 July 12:30pm Nelson Suburbs vs. Selwyn United 2:45pm Universities of Canterbury vs. Christchurch United
Christchurch United will be thankful that Coastal Spirit could only draw so their loss has them only 3 points off 2nd - but still it feels like it's going to be difficult for Chch Utd to qualify for the National League the way things are going. They don't have problems scoring it's just the defence is quite leaky.
And Cashmere Tech...10-1! That's a crazy scoreline (although an improvement for FC Twenty11 over last time when they lost 12-0).
FC Twenty11 now with a -63 goal difference - that's 40 goals worse than 2nd last place. It's crazy just how much of a difference in quality there is in the Southern league between the top and bottom teams.
Anyway I'm very much looking forward to the Cashmere Tech vs Coastal Spirit match when the league returns as it was a draw last time they played in the league and then Coastal beat them in the Chatham Cup so it should hopefully be a tight match
In transfer news - not into a Southern League club, but Cameron Lindsay - at ChCh United last season, has signed on at Birkenhead United and likely to have his first outing later in the month. He will join up with former United teammates, Haris Zeb and Sam Philip. Birkenhead currently top the Northern League
Heard rumours towards the end of last year that he was banned for gambling?
Thought it was a two year ban but now unsure as to what it actually is, can anyone confirm?AllWhites82

Looks like the ban was nine months (beginning in October and expiring in June), so he's now free to play. Same duration as Sam Dewar's for Miramar, who was pinged for the same thing
Looks like Christchurch United have signed Alden Suri, played for Solomon Islands and Petone FC
Has been on United's books since March, Alden is a 20-year-old left hand winger and has represented the Solomon Island at age group level, last game for Petone was in September 2022. Son of Batram who played for several clubs - Richmond and Ferrymead Bays, in the old Mainland Premier League.
