Wenger made the interesting comment the other day that Podolski was 'signed to play striker' - but he hasn't done so yet.

I think we have enough wide options for poldi or theo to play striker if giroud is injured? Certainly better placed than we were 2 seasons ago when arshavin led the line for a while LOL

The results haven't been the greatest this season but when you look at our squad man for man it matches up with anything in the league in my opinion.

I don't think Wenger intends to play Podolski centrally as Giroud is the first pick and then Walcott has first dibs after that.

Since Theo is locked away for another 2 seasons it wouldn't suprise me if Wenger went for Roberto Soldado or Alvaro Negredo in the summer.
For all his failings he does seem to be learning slowly when you look at the last two windows we have Podolski, Giroud, Cazorla and Monreal, and compare that to purchases over a few windows prior this is older, wiser and out and out better players. As much as I get frustrated there is an amount of belief that next season and the one after we could be back up fighting for the league - and I base this purely on these better international additions and the 5 british players that are locked away.
