Note in the above I am assuming the Times report on Bendtner coming back in 10 days is not true - in his presser Wenger said he'll be back in training in 3 weeks. Although that's a standard arsene line that generally means nothing!
Against Villa I'd expect Ramsey and Gibbs to be on the bench, and the Ox perhaps not included altogether just yet. Perhaps we're looking at;
Szczesny
Sagna-Mertesacker-Koscielny-Monreal
Arteta-Wilshere
Gnabry-Ozil-Cazorla
Giroud
Even with our injuries we've still got plenty of options in midfield and the wide positions. Rosicky, Flamini and Podolski could all potentially come in for starts.
Interesting conundrum in our midfield right now.
I think Flamini has been unlucky not getting starts lately - he and Arteta playing together just doesn't quite click. Neither seem completely suited to the more advanced of the two 'sitting in' midfielder roles. I feel Arteta looks exposed for pace if he's more advanced when we lose the ball, and Flamini lacks a natural attacking instinct that our other midfielders provide, even though he got that nice goal a while back. Personally I prefer Flamini starting in the deepest role but Wenger seems to prefer Arteta.
