Deleted what I wrote before on reflection because nobody likes a smart ass.

Instead I'll replace it with what the thread is meant to be about.

I am only a "fan" of one club, and that club is of course Associazione Sportivo Roma. But there are others I cheer on and have varying levels of interest in.

In Italian Serie B I support Latina because it is a city very close to my father's home town and I have seen them play at their home ground.
In Germany I support Union Berlin because I work for a union and Eisern Union is a club associated with the trade union movement in Germany.
In Spain I support Barcelona because when I was in Rome for the 2009 Champions League final their fans impressed the hell out of me. They were cool and super classy.
In France I support Nice because it is Garibaldi's birthplace.
In Scotland I support Hamilton Academical because I grew up in Hamilton, NZ.

I think that's about it...

i agree with hatin milan after last night!!

I'm with you boys.Juve, Inter, AC Milan are the scum of the scum of the earth. They have monopolized - let alone corrupted - the serie A for a good 40 years. They help each other out constantly, whilst the smaller teams struggle to avoid relegation. Every time a middle-table team bids on a player, one between juve, inter or ac milan outbids them, only to withdraw their offer at a later stage so that the player will stay in their original team.

Two years after AS Roma won the Scudetto - two or three years before the Juventus-scandal was uncovered and those c#nts were punished with relegation, Juve, through the famous Gea-agency (which controls lots of players' agents) stole 6 starting-line up players AND the coach from Roma....Just as an example...

The only thing I disagree with you mate, is that you like Lazio. I mean, it's like being a Celtic fan and supporting some sh*tty team like Hearts or something.. I mean Lazio supporters are a bunch of peasants and they should be wiped from the face of earth. Not from Rome, because in Rome there are not more that 5 of 'em. All the others come from the country.

I don't like to argue with a fellow Romanista but my family is from Southern Lazio and a lot of them are Lazio supporters. You know it's not as simple as you make it out to be. Some suburbs of Rome are heavily Lazio (particularly in the North of the city) and a lot of smaller towns like Anzio (where Bruno Conti hails from) are full of Romanisti. I dislike Lazio intensely as a club and a LOT of their fans are racist Nazi thugs, but actually so are some Roma fans. Yes, more Lazio supporters are idiots than Roma supporters but to suggest they should all be wiped from the face of the earth is perhaps a little harsh???

Daje Roma! :-)
