Not in match day squad as HJK (1st) beat IIves (7th), by 2-1.
David Browne full game.

Finnish league already looks a 2 horse race. HJK 4 points ahead of Inter Turku (2nd) - who are 7 points clear of 3rd.

Looks like Rogerson's has only played one game for HJK's reserve team (Klubi-04) in the Finnish 2nd tier. So maybe he's injured. Old stager Chris James on the other hand has played 7 games for Klubi-04. Whatever is happening over in Helsinki, Rogerson's Olympic hopes do look a bit thin now.

It's either an injury or waiting for the club to sort out international player spot. Anyways I will expect Logan to be playing in the 1st team in no time and do well.

No South African player playing in Finland has ever been called up to a national team (junior or senior). You can make your own conclusions.....
"Darren Smith (24) joined rivals FC Honka in December, following a season in the second division where he won the Golden Boot and Player of the Season awards with Ekenas IF."
He scored 21 goals in 26 games in the 1st division and is currently on 2 goals in 6 matches in the top division. This from a player who couldn't make it in the PSL.

Logan will be a superstar in this league. If Helsinki have a good run in the Europa or Conference League he could be spotted and given a chance at a good stepping stone. The A-League and Auckland City Council have to make a plan and give Kiwi's a better chance to go pro.

Injured - playing reserves??

He got a 3 year contract by memory, so must be rated, so why no where in sight?

In this week's Flying Kiwis.

"HJK have already won their first leg against Budućnost Podgorica 3-1 – with all three goals coming in the opening quarter of an hour – though Rogerson’s been injured and still hasn’t played for the club since signing late in the NZ Premiership season from Auckland City."

HJK with a 4-0 win away at Budućnost Podgorica (Montenegro) so 7-1 win on aggregate in UCL first round qualifying.

Browne subbed on at 67 mins (score 4-0). No Rogerson.

HJK have drawn Malmö FF (who are currently atop the Swedish top tier), in 2nd round qualifying. A Scandi derby.

Wasn’t involved in match day squad for reserves (Klubi 04) either (Chris James did play 85 minutes though). So seems he’s still unavailable through injury, might have even been a factor in him not making the Olympic team

So is he actually injuried?

Now see that he came off the bench (at 64 mins) for HJK's 2nd side Klubi-04, yesterday and scored in a 2-1 loss. Chris James got 56 mins earlier.

So yes maybe Rogerson is working his way back after an injury.

Appears he has gone on loan to FC Haka, who are currently 9/12 in the top Finnish league.

Makes some sense - was unlikely to break into the first team of HJK Helsinki straight away, especially given it seems he's been injured. If he shines at a team lower down the table he might get more of a run with HJK.

Yipe seems a good move, as hard to see him breaking into HJK's squad as they runaway with the league title. I'm sure there will soon be a video out there of him doing Kapa O Pango in the FC Haka changing rooms.

HJK with a 3-0 home win over Azerbaijan, side Neftchi Baku - Europa League Qualifying Round 2nd leg (5-2 win on aggregate). David Browne was subbed off at HT (score 0-0), and his replacement immediately scored!

Like Copenhagen next up HJK also get a Turkish opponent in Europe. Tough 2 legged tie against Fenerbahce. HJK win that and into Group Stage proper.

Elsewhere parent club HJK lost 1-0 in the away leg of their Europe League tie in Turkey verus Fenerbahce. Not a bad result for HJK. David Browne subbed on at 64 mins (score 0-0). Mesut Özil  (still only age 32) running around for Fenerbahce, who having only played one Turkish league game, so a little bit underdone perhaps.

Parent club HJK lose 2-5 (3-7 on aggregate) in 2nd home leg of their Europe League playoff verus Fenerbahce. David Browne subbed on at 61 mins (score 1-3), and credited with the assist for HJK's 2nd goal.

Was 2-3 until 91st min, HJK presumably truly sunk on the counter late on.

90 minutes at right wing in a 4-0 loss to SJK for Haka. Nikko Boxall full 90 for SJK and ex Nix Brandon Wilson a substitute and got the assist for the fourth. If any Northern Hemisphere-based AWs team were to be sorted for October, he’d probably be up there to back up Just and McCowatt.

It was Rogerson’s first professional first team 90 minutes of his career, and first start since 25 March 2018, in a 2-2 draw against Brisbane at (then-called) Westpac, where he scored. The game was under Greenacre after Kalezic got dumped, and was during the international break in which New Zealand lost to Canada behind closed doors in Spain, one of Fritz Schmidt’s four games, so a few players were over there. Also starting that game were Monty Patterson, Sail and 17yo Cacace, whilst Willem Ebbinge and Sam Philip were on the bench.

But harsh on HJK playing only a few days are winning the Finnish league in a high stakes game against runners up KuPS. Strangely they don't play CL games again for a further 3 weeks. It will be pretty fresh in Helsinki by late Nov.

Rogerson's parent club HJK beat Alashkert (0 pts) from Armenia, 1-0 in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Bottom 2 teams in the group, behind Maccabi Tel Aviv (10 pts) and LASK (10 pts).

HJK (6 pts) just playing for pride now with 1 games left. 4 degrees C in Helsinki.

David Browne got 73 mins (score 1-0), no Rogerson on a large 12 man bench. Perhaps he's already in/or done the the NZ MIQ lottery, and coming home for some summer training with likes of the Boxall bros, at Coach Sunz's football boot camps.
