I'm listening to my 80's Technics component system and thinking it may be time to update to something more modern, and less sizeable (especially in our wee living room). Hmmmmmm...

Nah man, you can't beat 80s hi-fi systems for reliability and sound quality, at least not for a reasonable price.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.
