Strange season in NRFL this year, several teams had one hand on promotion to premier league but come the business end some bizzare results.

Manurewa now look to be in the box seat with MAP still an outside chance

In Premier League one of Western Springs or Bay Olympic will be joining Tauranga and Melville in Div 1 next season.

Birkenhead beat Three Kings to give themselves an outside shot at the title, but Central still favourites with Three Kings chasing hard.

Papakura lost 2-3 at home to MAP, so they're down on goal difference. A draw would have seen Hibiscus Coast go down instead. 'Kura just can't seem to convert a massive junior club and big catchment area into anything tangible in the Seniors. A sad indictment on their inability to retain players.

Manurewa will go up to Prems if they beat Waitakere at home in a couple of weeks (rescheduled match). If they don't, then MAP join the Waitaks in going up.

Good on Franklin for staying up in Div 1 - they looked like they'd struggle for much of the season, but kicked on late to live for another year.

And I see Big Kev has done good things at Manukau, who'll be in Div 1 next year.

Would be great if Waiheke Island managed to get up to Div 2 - how does the Conference promotion work?
