Also,

Van Dijk stays with Adelaide for three years.

Rostyn Griffiths to Central Coast

And Lucas Pantelis signs with Adelaide for two more seasons, amid speculation he was off to Roar.

Annd, Jason Culina has gone back to PSV...

But just to train. Wonder if there is any potential to him returning there permanently next season...

It's a hard one because you'd think Culina is probably hoping for a stellar performance in the world cup so maybe a decent european club comes calling. There could possibly be a get out clause in his contract like Smeltz and a lot of other a-league players have. Because surely playing average at best infront of 5000 fans each week isn't what he had planned. But GC would fight tooth and nail to keep him.

SOCCEROOS defender Simon Colosimo is set to play his last game for the Sky Blues in the grand final and join the Sydney exodus to league newcomer Melbourne Heart.

Colosimo is believed to have agreed to a two-year deal with Heart and will return to play in his home town next season.

But he will go on immediate loan from his new employer to play in South Korea on a four-month deal. Colosimo wants to retain fitness and convince Socceroo boss Pim Verbeek that he is worth a place in Australia's squad for the World Cup.

Heart has already signed Sydney goalkeeper Clint Bolton, who will also play his last game for Sydney in the grand final tomorrow night.

Nah, he'll come back, he got offered a good contract to stay at PSV but decided to come home. The fact he's headed back there to train shows he's got no issues with anyone there, it was a personal decision.

Another fringe Socceroo who has dreams of World Cup glory but will be watching on TV like the rest of us.

Good signing for the heart. Also good to know Sydney will get a decent centre back to replace him and bring more talent to the league. Heart are gathering a pretty decent squad, just need a big name marquee.

Panny Nikas wins youth league player of the year, then gets released from CCM

http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/125152,arnie-axes-his-nyl-skipper.aspx

Without seeing any NYL I wouldnt know if he would be worth a squad place. But if we get a NZFC reserve side the fact he is too old for the aussie youth leagues wouldnt hinder his development whilst being a u23 player for us.

Yeah, have heard a bit about that as their replacement for Corica.

Haven't seen a lot of him, played for the Jets (?) I think a while back.

That Carle story has been around for months but last I read he was getting more game time so now more likely to stay where he is.

Nicky is a great player. And was awesome to watch when he was with the Jets. But is more of an attacking midfielder.
I think that Sydney would prefer someone (Like Corica) who can hold that central midfieldStefan2010-03-27 17:37:36

Couldnt be fresher,  should have quoted the source - todays Sydney Morning Herald

""Meanwhile, the quest of Vitezslav Lavicka to bring Nicky Carle to Sydney FC is official after the coach sat down with the player's agent before last week's A-League grand final to discuss how they could get the Socceroos playmaker back from England.

Carle's difficult stint abroad has culminated in his considering a return to Australia, a move that would shoot him from the fringes of Crystal Palace's first team to near top billing at whatever A-League club he joined. But after previously saying he would only ever play for the Newcastle Jets - who helped to propel him into stardom - it appears that the 28-year-old favours a move back to Sydney, where his family lives.""

With Disco, Tezza and Grant in the team and Munro not even able to get a run the defensive end of the midfield is fine.  A creative midfielder is exactly what we need.

And regardless talking o people who watch him or catching what games you can on Fox Carle seems to have turned into pretty much the complete box-to-box midfielder over there.  Has certainly branched out his game a bit.  The fact that he's aussie and we seemingly wnat to stick to 3+1 so we don't have to cut anyone for ACL actually makes it a fairly smart signing IMO.  And we'd still get to spend $300k+ each on 2 foreigners for ST and LM

Snore. When Brockie actually does something other than being 'that kid that could score for the Knights' wake up the rest of us. Until then, don't believe the hype.

Not a done deal yet anyway

""Culina denied reports yesterday that the Jets had agreed to terms with North Queensland forward Jeremy Brockie and former Socceroos midfielder Kasey Wehrman. I don't know where those reports appeared from," Culina said.

"We're talking to a number of players but I have not been informed that we have finalised any of those deals.""

Without meaning to be controversial, can somebody tell me what all the hype is about surrounding Brockie? I live in England so haven't seen a lot of him but I did see him play for Hawke's Bay in the NZFC and thought he was bloody awful! He got dragged off after 70-odd minutes if I remember rightly and all the Auckland City fans were giving him stick.

I saw his performances at the Confederations Cup in South Africa and he looked totally out of his depth if I'm honest. Add to that he's had more clubs that Tiger Woods and that usually means there's something not right (although there are odd exceptions to that rule).

I'm surprised that two a-league club have used an import spot on a not-very-often-AW, who is injury prone.
