Um, this is the first year any giveaways has been done for memberships. I don't believe there is any bias with who won the T-Shirts (why would there be, they're only shirts)

Western Sydney Wanderers just released they had 12000 members for this year so far. Maybe if we go for something like that in a 10 year period it might not seem so gloomy.

Anyway this giveaway system is just crock, Same old people winning stuff each year and if your not "in the zone" just forget it altogether.

Tegal's right, there was definitely no bias, the prize winners were drawn by the club randomly from everyone who had signed up to renew their season pass, regardless of whether they were "in the Zone" or not.

Also, I don't consider 4k to be just a "great laugh", I think it is a very reasonable target. With the amount of advertising the club is putting in, I'd actually be disappointed if we don't get there.

Just out of interest, the membership number seems to have stayed at 2.1k for the past couple of days. Any updates? And if we are just short of 4k, will we include club members to get over the target?

i won a tee shirt.
I'm not in the zone. I just renewed my season ticket as soon as possible.   Also, they were "only" old stock shirts and nothing special. Please don't get me wrong, I'm still chuffed to have been drawn at random....

Uhhhh maybe the guys @ Welnix's should be talking to "the other people" not in the zone. You know the general public? By what i see here is - if your "Not in the zone" your a troll for posting on here. And any give away or what not is governed by friends of friends only for "Zone Members". Yep great concept guys. Build the yellow zone road to 4k, Kinda think getting everyone in seats is better then the divide that you guys have done.

good god your a grumpy muppet aren't ya! The club wants to build it's loyal fan base, the club knows that this starts with the Yellow Fever, ie those of us who have been around since day 1! The zone is the main area that the YF guys sit in because it suits how they/we wish to view and support the team - the club wants this area to be bigger because they know it will bring more casual fans to the game. If you are a loyal fan who has sitting outside the zone then you are in no way being disrespected in any manner by this giveaway. It's simply a start of things to come. If you are really that desparate for an old YF Tee shirt you can have one of mine, or better still go to Ryos and buy one for $25.

I'm on here, my seat is not in the Zone, I am a YF member.  The #YFforums do promote to active visitors of this site.

My belief is the Phoenix advertising in the various media is targeted at the general public. Most of which most likely do not even no this forum exists.

I'm not in the zone either.

In fact, was it not said during the 'grow the zone' thread discussion that people were surprised by just how many people in these forums do not sit in the zone? I remember counting comments at one point, and only about 1 in 5 who posted their seating location were actually in the zone.

Anyways...moving on to much much more interesting things.

Season ticket sales have plateaued at about 10 a day...how do we ramp that up?

For me, we need to switch thinking from renewals (easy sell) to new tickets (harder).

How do we do that? What prizes can I find that might tempt a NEW season ticket holder.

A discounted all white's ticket per season pass. For New only (1st time buyers only), would need Nix buy in,

That is a hard question. You are looking for something that will be the final straw on a $169 purchase. Committed fans might be seduced by lunch with the players but not sure about the casual fan.

Could aim for the Eurosnobs and see if Coliseum would donate a couple Premier League Passes to give away?

See with you lot its The Zone and then theirs the public. The Zone and forum members get this and that - General public gets nothing except name calling.

The Yellowfever has divided itself from the general public. Looking at AFC + SFC and more so WSW there is the Red and Black army but there all WSW fans and they all sing it. That does not happen in Wellington - Why? Divided. There's no "We are" Its "Us then you".

But maybe that's the mentality of the YellowFever and "There Zone".

I find trolling works better when spelling/grammar is correct.

I emailed my entire office with the membership brochure the other day.  Might follow up to see if anyone actually purchased them.  Intend to get Mum to do the same, also trying to convince the flatmates.

End of an era.  Vinnie - It's over.

Yeah, that seems really separatist. Typical Yellow Fever Zone.
Seriously though, emailing the membership brochure to your workplace is a good idea. I might put one up in our staffroom.

Think there are some legs in this. Getting/incentivising members to peer pressure their mates to come along.

Must say I'm envious of the Victory being able to do this. Always thought a Phoenix paint job on a train would be great advertising.

At the point where we are mostly trying to sell it to newbies I would like to see the Nix enter a new phase of advertising focusing on a few really key individuals/selling points:

1. Ernie Merrick has won the A-League twice before.

2. Carlos Hernandez has won the A-League before and been Player of The Year.

3. If we sign Kenny Cunningham, then we have two Costa Rican internationals, latin flair etc. Could even go so far as putting all members in a draw for a holiday in Costa Rica or something (trip to the intercontinental play-off maybe?).

4. The Nix this year really will be a new and exciting team.

These are obviously initiatives for the Nix not so much Yellow Fever, although we can help pump those messages to friends, family, workmates.

What about getting some good offers at the season start.

You buy a 'trial' ticket for the first game with an option to buy a full season ticket for $99 (or whatever is a good price) Newbies will taste a game, mostly like it and want more.

I just did that with my football team. You would be surprised how little interest in the HAL/'Nix or local football there is amongst people that play football. I think in my team of ~16 only 2 have season memberships (probably the only 2 that have ever had season tickets).
Added in All White preferential buying offer for season memberships purchased before 5pm 31 July, Ernie Merrick and Carlos Hernandez spiel plus some Hernandez youtube clips and of course links to brochure with a small summary on season ticket and flexi pass details.

The largest part of the support base is not the zone.

Source = TV pictures from last year.

I would also say that there are more season ticket holders sitting/standing outside of the zone than in it.
