Five return - one goes (Gao gone)

So who is left....Coveny, Johnson, Muscat, Kwasnik all come of contract at the end of this season. Chances are we will see none of them next year in a Phoenix shirt.

Would love Muscat to be re-signed,he's a quality hard worker

Great news on gaining the signatures of those five. Gao is no big loss.

Squad should be good next season if we can pick up a quality playmaking central midfielder and a couple of decent strikers. With Moss gone, I hope Paston is staying on.

Means signing another Keeper though. Who knows what we'll get, might be better than Paston therefore he'll be number 2 again

With Lei Lei, Mossy and Smeltzy all going we must be opening up a bit of room under the cap, Impression was that LeiLei was on a fair wedge

hope that means those that have resigned will now not have to worry about contracts and can get on with the game and win this weekend.

good news about gao promised so much and gave so little.

Even better new I got an early game time for futsol so I can make it to the game this sunday and not have to leave half way though.

Daniel applied for residency last year. I remember an article in the Dominion about how his English language teacher was helping with his application.

FIFA has changed the rules recently but as Daniel had already applied before the rule change then the pld rules apply to him...i.e its easier for him to get into the All Whites.

Someone needs to pull some strings to speed it up. Get Key to do it!!!!!

I am really impressed with what I see of the management of the Nix...

When hard decisions are to be made they make them.

If and when needed they participate in the forum.

Compared with some of the problems the Kingzs got themselves into this is very refreshing..

Great players to re-sign first. Especially happy about Sigmund and Ferrante.

Not sad to see the back of Gao.

Good news, we now have a stable core of players to work with over the next couple of years. It's a shame it didn't work out for Gao his talent was there, hopefully Mulligan will be next out the door and frees up some of the salary cap for a striker.

great to see a solid group of guys staying with the club, Leilei is no real loss. Hopefully we can pick up a couple of good strikers.

Really happy to see Sigmund and Daniel staying as well for two more years. Also good to see Brown, Ferrante and Lochhead resigned.

Couldn't give a stuff that Gao is leaving, good news all round today.

Very pleased with re-signings - a good solid core to the 09/10 squad; Lochhead, Brown, Sigmund, Daniel, Ferrante, Durante, McKain, Bertos, Lia, Hearfield, and Costa. Well done Tony !!

My wish list for key signings are; another Moss, ball winning defensive midfielder (a Ross Aloisi), a creative midfielder (fingers crossed Fred stays) and a couple of bloody good strikers.

Disappointed Goa didn't work out - he had all the ability in the world and could have been an A-league star but, for whatever reason, he wasn't interested. No point flogging a dead horse - his continued presence ran the risk of dragging the team down - we need a performnace culture and he was given ample opportunity to demonstrate his value.

Onwards and upwards - roll on Sunday and, hopefully, the Fred show.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Nix news is definately coming thick and fast right now, Fred arrives, Hammam threatens, Mossy goes, players re-sign, Gao pisses off and I can't keep up...

Signing that makes me smile is Daniel, now he's here to stay we can look forward to some more flair and creativity in the AWs. Hoping that part of the reason he agreed to stay is a promise to get more game time.

I saw in the Transfer thread quite a while ago a list of the length of the players contracts and whose was ending this year. I can't be arsed finding it. Anyone still got it?

exactly my view on the matter. Muscat and Lia would cover well he RB position. And Lia could go on International duty without being missed

i expect some of the remaining salary dollars for this season would have found their way into his back pocket, but it should free up some 'cap space' for next season

I have the exact opposite view. Would love to see Dodd go and Muscat stay.

Also, where does it say that we've shown Gao the door? I don't mind it, but is it official? Since we have to pay him till the end of the season, shouldn't we keep him in the squad? you never know he might come in handy

Saw Fred being interviewed on One News tonight and he said something like "and maybe stay...." My bold prediction is that he will transfer to the Nix.

As to the goalies, I don't think we need to buy anyone too special as a back up. Paston is Ok for us and we only need a promising youngster rather than a Moss-like player.

Presume we weren't the only ones who wanted him to leave, any player who ditches the team like he (apparantley) did probably isn't enjoying his club

Siggy re-signing, I'm very happy now.

Concerned about Dodd, think he may be gone-ski, but I'd really like him to stay. Muscat needs to be re-signed too.

Yeah that was on 3News too.....made me smile.....Nix working their magic, or Fred just knowing what to say on arrival at a new team.....?

Oh, and stoked about the re-signings....Siggy, Daniel and Mickey Ferrante especially....good to have Brown and Lochhead commit too.

Over the moon that Gao Gao GOOOONE has been shown the door.....images of last Saturday after the match vs Waitak when the players were heading back to the team coach, laughing, joking and generally enjoying themselves with real team unity and commeraderie, and there was Gao, on his own wandering about 10m ahead of everyone in his own petulant little world.

Good rid I say!!!

Would like to see Paston announced next, followed by Dodd and then Muscat, have been impressed with Manny after he got a lesson from Allsopp in that early game. He looks to have a good skill level but I admire his attitude most of all. Was Manny of the Match for me up in West Auckland.

Good work Nix management, re-signing some good names, fighting hard to keep Smeltz and Moss, getting rid of the rubbish but most of all for bringing Fred in.....now just keep him here.

And lets get back to Joel Porter too.....I still have a good feeling about that one! Tony P......?

That Fred comment sounds so 'scripted' it's not amusing.
