Notice you won't hear Duhurst commenting on Ryal's touch

There are a couple of soft fouls given to Sydney...

we have failed to play out of from the back all half, they are doing a full press, and mid field arent quite opening up spaces or getting in spaces to be played to

Hope Ricki gets them on track for the second half

we are again poor tonight, no midfield play at all, why.

Permalink Permalink

I'm not sure I agree with Dewhurst. Sydney have not been flash at all. We have been guilty of sitting off the play, or rushing in and missing the ball/player and he has been able to turn and be in space. I think if we were a bit tighter, Sydney would be doing nothing.

fair result for the 1st half, sydney are pushing us around and our long balls or final balls are not connecting. holes being opened in mid field. but brockie has found himself in good space, leo has been running well. come lads, big 2nd half

Piss poor game from us so far - Lochhead completely fucked up in the lead up to that goal about 3 times and then failed to stop the cross. Ridiculous.

Lia/Smith/Manny looking like the worst midfield in the league today. Barely touched the ball - so bad we have to keep lumping it over their heads.

Stein has been poor too - not much service but his first touch is just not there.

Whenever Lia gets it in midfield he's so negative he actually looks to pass back to Paston first.

Leo and Brockie only bright spots.

Ref isn't helping - hate these kind of officials; completely break up the game.

Now you know why I have never rated Tony.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

I rate Tony most of the time - he's never going to be a great player but he's usually pretty solid. He just fucked up badly there. 3 times in a row. Then put in a weak foot and turned away when Culina crossed; could've quite easily got in the way and stopped that.

When is Sanchez back? Smith/Lia/Manny are far too defensive.

The problem for us is that we probably thought that Sydney without a few  players would be easy. We had a great chance to score with Brockie, but since then it has been average. They look sharper and eager and unless we up the tempo by 30% we will not get back in this game.

TBF Sydney are vastly improved on the rabble that showed up in round one, but yes, we mustn't lose these games (especially at home).

Impressed that Ricky has introduced fresh legs so early.  Maybe he has finally figured out that games can't all be won in the last ten minutes.
