i think he maybe could have done a job for us at centre back - but prob other factors than his playing ability came into play.
I better burn all the copies of 4-4-2 where I said that our key player this season was gonan be Clebo!

Well, Clebs did have an impact against Melbourne in the first round. Just seemed to be floating in outer space ever since. He woulda been a key player if he played consistently

or, if he had been a key player he would have been selected consistently?

I don't think he was that good. As for George, the less said the better.

George made 4 appearances, played for 86 minutes and had 1 shot, which was on target.

The fact that you thought it was 20 minutes speaks for something all by itself. Not enough of an impact.

George played all his football in Brasil as an out and out striker, feeding off a big man up front.  In Portugal he played as a front-man, later as a wide attacking midfielder on the right.
 
Ricki tended to use him as a stand-in for Felipe, which is not his natural position.  It didn't work out, move on, no hard feelings I'd suspect.  Writing was on the wall the day Elrich signed.
 
Let's just hope Nix can hold onto the 'good' pair of Brasilians.  It'll be interesting to see what happens next closed season, bring in two more or go for something different.  End of the day, 2 out of 4 is probably a better strike rate for Brasilians than any other A-League side has managed.
