Do wonder if it under cuts the punishment but then don't know what they have done and she was on the bench for them to use, even if originally just to make up numbers
Always find it ridiculous when the ref gives a yellow card for kicking the ball away/time wasting during the 5 mins of injury time... only to blow the whistle to the second after 5 mins.
that's really gutting, just a string of poor ref calls leading to fouls being conceded in good positions for Glory.
For both goals. Some really soft calls going Perths way. Where as that one on Whinham not called was exactly the same as the one on De Vanna in the first half. Disappointing for the girls after a brave effort.
to a point, but in the space of that 10 minutes where Perth scored twice calls went very much against us. The physicality ramped up big time and clear fouls against us went un noticed and Perth took advantage of it. Yet the slightest touch on their #9 and she went over like she'd been shot and the whistle blew, leading to both goals. It happens every week, and is largely the same treatment the nix got in their first season or two. Just a really heavy bias on calling the nix for fouls and being vigilant with the opposition.

Was a trend the whole game - Perth players went down at the slightest touch and got everything they wanted, Nix players were having shirts grabbed and being tripped and literally nothing.
They'll have to get used to it though, its nothing new for an NZ team in the A-League.
I agree they'll have to get used to it and learn to win against the odd - they shouldnt have too though. These women are probably the youngest squad across the league, the only ones not playing any home games this season, the last thing they need is a blatant vigorous over reffing of their play. It's a disheartening attitude from the Aussie refs and shouldnt be tolerated.
By the way, how good are both Taylor and Barry at CB? Both athletic, physical, capable on the ball and read the game well. Other than Taylor needing to get out to cover her fullbacks a little quicker at times they've been the standouts for me, other than the obvious Whinam and Alfeld. A few more games at this level to develop game management and uld experience and I think they'll both turn into very handy defenders. Wisnewski has great timing on her tackles as well - despite results there's some serious talent on this squad.
Big wraps on our defence, but in reality we have conceded 25 goals in 9 games. In general play these girls are doing fantastic. But not so much defending set piece. It feels like at least half of our goals conceded have been from corners resulting in scrambles in the box or poor clearances straight to opposition. That's a team / coaching thing though I guess. Good to see our attackers linking together much more effectively in this game. We looked good down the left and McMeechan was good going forward on the right. Girls really need a win to build further confidence. Losing every game creates a losing expectation.
like you say a lot of those goals are set pieces, and down to silly errors, remembering that our CB's are only 20 and 18, and the rest of the squad are under 22 - excluding Kramer and Jale I think. It would be good to grab a win just for confidence sake, Canberra would be a chance although they held the Jets to a 3-3 draw recently.
