Snap!!! Had a pretty good run last season finishing 7th, after somehow avoiding relegation the season before when i lost in the playoffs. Youth Academy has gone cold, but found a few bargains in the transfer market that i managed to flick on for some money so that was good.

Haha nice work^

I won 3-0 at home after going 1 man down against a reasonably matched team.

A win, draw and loss to start.  I'll take that.

Pretty stoked got a 0-1 win away against a slightly better team.  Was holding my own but it helped with a red card to the other team.  1 more win and I'll match the number of wins I had the first time in the Championship.

Also struck a 4.5* striker (15 y/o too so plenty of routine by the time he graduates to the A team).

Yeah those red cards can be handy, when they go your way.

That 15y/o 4.5* striker sounds good. If you can get him training in a reserve squad you should get a high rec. Don't be surprised that by the time he is ready the championship will need all 4.5* players to compete. It's getting like that now in all Chamionships I'm in, expect the powerhouse Cameroon.

Still think REC is very important. One of my sides I brought in 3 young 4* players, but they have low rec and I lost my first four games because they all suck at once :) 2 or 3 seasons before they start paying back their wages.

Good that we can now sub at 90 mins and still get rec added.

I don't look at stars that much but rather skill index.  Further I look for specific skills for specific positions.  I have a bench striker who is only 12,000 skill index but above 15 in Strength, Stamina and Pace and 17 and 19 in Finishing and Longshots respectively.  Also I think routine is important and my reserve team serves sole purpose of getting players routine.  Most of my first team players under 25 have at least 20-30 routine already .  I reluctantly bought a midfielder in who has poor routine (I think 11 or so) and is 25 but has good stats.  Bit of a trade off with what I can afford.  Plus he's already gotten me an assist so happy with him so far :)

Agree that stars can be misleading. One of the keys things is to not waste wages on irrelevant skills.

Yes plenty of good players around, but with low routine. As the market stands I think running a high YA is marginal at best.

I have the B side for routine also, I think all do and will keep it and raise TG to 10, drop YA and just shop for bargains.

I don't have a lot of time to trawl for transfers so I quite like having the YA, even though it's an expensive process.  I spend about 30 mins on the game a week and would like to keep it that way!

Won my latest game at home 2-0 against a similarly matched team so pretty stoked about that.

Well done on the win. Things going good for you,

My sides of the rails so far, enough to think what it's like in Div 3, but will wait till after match 17.

1/2  an hours good. I'm about an hour and a half per week, but I have 10 teams ;)

Not enough time really lol, so will be dropping 6 of them.

Once I started playing in Italy and the like for a few seasons I really saw what a long haul the game is.

Is deceptive in NZ and Aus where it's relatively easy to get up to Championship.

Shark 10 teams!  1's enough for me haha.

Had a good draw (3-3) at home and a very satisfying 3-1 win at home against a much better side (heaps of 4.5*).

I've been using the tactics a lot more so changes are made automatically are made depending on a number of situations and it seems to be working.

Where'd you guys finish in the regular season?

I ended up 12th in the relegation playoff spots in Championship Group 3.  A bit disappointing as I thought I'd be mid-table.  The team hasn't really developed as much as i'd like though everyone will be better off with extra routine.  If I stay up I might go sign a 1 month sponsorship and with new season bonus go sign a 50+ mil center def player.

Dead last in the premiership. Might rename my team the Sky Valley yoyos

10th in Championship 3 (you probably knew that). Was towards the top but fell off at the end of the season.

So a few new players next year. Prob another CB, maybe a striker, and a few squad players (injury cover). Probably need to change my formation up a little bit.

Going to bring up the LB from my reserves, nearly as good as the current LB so will see if i can get some cash off his sale.

Thinking about cashing in on the CDM in my reserves, solid player but never going to be as good as the guy in my main team, can't ever see myself playing 2 CDM's. Any of you have thoughts on this?

My 2 cents. Your 2nd DMC Tory needs to be sold unless he has high adaptability and you can play him as a MC/Res and DC/Res as cover for your older MC and 2 x 4* DC's. Positioning is a problem though.

Your current DMC Mulligan looks great.  I want him!

Sometimes hard to sell good young players. I've sold some young 4*s that I'd have brought in a flash... 2 seasons ago.

Buy a young 4* DL? yes. DC? Maybe Tory? Maybe a young 4* that will go 4.5* that you can sub on for routine build 'till ready.

Based on your for and against, defense is where the money should go. Your current forwards should build into something good.

Yes that was more like 5 cents worth ;)

Mine...

Aussie Championship 16th demoted and not surprised

Kiwi Championship 11th won first playoff. Fingers crossed to stay

Chile Championship 5th. Maybe 2 more seasons to have a crack at premier.

Cameroon Championship. 2nd. Promotion Playoffs. Been in Premiership a couple of times but keep doing the Sky Valley yoyo. This time???

England League 1. 15th. Demoted. First year up so not surprised. Hard nut league.

Spain League 1. 12th. Demotion playoffs. First year up

German League 1. 2nd. Promotion playoffs. First year down from Championship.

France League 2. 2nd. Promotion playoffs.

Looks like a lot of work but I just keep a note on each teams needs and when online, action it if possible. Couldn't do it without Pro as I bid ahead with what I'm willing to pay, and if I don't get the target, no worries.

Auskiwi - how do you keep so many teams going?

Managed to stay up in Kiwi Champ G3.  Few grrrrrivals in there!  Mid-table here we come please.

How? Just have a plan on excel. That way I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel every time I'm on. Of the 8 teams only two need one player each and it's not urgent... yet. Mostly it's just red card and injury team management. Mostly about 20 mins 3 times a week sometime between game days.

G3, watch out for Sky Valley :)

I got my best finish of 10th in the championship. Been really busy at work so haven't been putting as much effort in as I could recently. Firmly confirmed myself in the championship I think.

Tried to sign an 18+ tackle/marking CB with decent stamina but couldn't get anything decent under 80mil.  Then when I looked at my stocks I had guys who were 15-17 range in those departments anyway will bank that they'll have more routine under their belt and continue to focus on developing through YA.

Already picked up a 4.5 so that helps.

Bringing the game talk back into this thread - even though it's barely alive.

But having a shocking season so far.  In the auto relegation zone, with 1 team ahead of me and 7 points needed to overtake that team.  I think I made the mistake of selling off a couple of senior players, notably my most experienced defender.  I have this habit of selling off players hitting 30-31 years old as to get a decent return before they drop off a cliff stats wise.

Best case scenario is I get into the relegation play offs zone and try stay up.  I've made up my mind that I'll invest in a 80+mil defender even if I go down.  Might sell my first team GK who is decent as is, but my reserve keeper is about to overtake him in stats and is years younger.

My season has gone surprisingly well, especially given that I gave up and paid no attention for the first half of the season Should just miss out on the playoff spots. After selling down the YA (which had been poos for me recently) and selling off the old reserve squad I have some money to strengthen my team. The core of the squad is pretty good (some even cam through the YA), no one too old so have potential to be a top championship side for a few more seasons with some tinkering here and there. Just over brought a new striker (probably overpaid).

It was a shame to lose the reserves, there was quite a solid team building there. With a good year they could have pushed for promotion. But I didn't want to pay for Pro so they had to go. On the plus side a few of them have yielded decent transfer fees.

Well I'm heading for the drop which is disappointing as I thought I could have consolidated mid-table.  Luckily the new sponsorship model should keep the finances in check as I drop down a level.

On the plus side, have pulled quite a few 4.5* of late including a much needed LB.  YA seem to be yeilding well but I may need to dip in the transfer market as well.

/tumbleweeds across the trophymanager game pitch.

Does anyone still actively play this?  How are your teams going?

I'm back up in Championship this season doing OK-ish (in relegation playoffs but only a few points away from safety).

Reserve team is building nicely with a full starting + 7 subs of at least 17 rec scouted potential players.

No big transfers of late, i need to sell off a reserve GK and probably a couple of bench players who should really be starters.

I'm still around, sporadically. Another solid year in the championship, finished 8th although dropped the last couple of games and played some of the squad, wasn't going to make playoffs either up or down. Not sure if i should just keep on in this comfy zone or try gear up for a push at higher honours.

Finished last season in the relegation playoffs in Championship, guess I won it because I'm still in it.  But absolutely sharke start to the new season 3 losses to start and the opponents aren't getting easier.

My squad can't quite mix it with the top few in the group talent wise but it held up OK last season.  Change of tactics and formation will hopefully do it.

Yeah that’s why I quit. It became very same same, and they made several changes which made it impossible to catch the already established top teams. And my team had won the top division, and Cup (as well as being in several cup finals). So it’d be even more impossible for other clubs to do so.
