Maybe I'm missing something, but how can Auckland United and Onehunga Sports both enter?  Isn't Auckland United the merger of Three Kings United and Onehunga Sports?

I'm not sure on the finer details, but I believe Onehunga Sports still exists as a separate entity to a certain extent, including having a NRF Women's Championship team.

Onehunga Sports player here. As far as I can tell the merger has only taken place at the "top level" so far, it's going to be phased in over a number of years. Similarly, Bohemian Celtic have their own entry in the Chatham Cup although they're fused at the top level with UniMount.

Ah the AFC Bohemian Celtic in the Chatham Cup has nothing to do with Uni-Mt anymore - the Sunday section broke away as Uni-Mt said join as a Saturday team or leave - so they left.  Last season they played at Michaels Ave as an Ellerslie AFC associated team and are doing the same this season.

Hi All
First post since NRFL Forum has died like to think I tried to add something ?

See Springs v Northern Rovers replay  has finally won out so this Sunday at Springs mid Afternoon so no chance Lights are a factor .
Can see it going to Extra time again

On last weeks League results I think the quality of reserves available to step up is in question particularly for Auck United but also think Springs lacked in who they put on particularly the last 2 it’s alright to chase a game but 1-1 and a point stops ES gaining on them so the late winner will have hurt but Ant Strachan’s daughter like her Dad did for the Blues and ABs chases everything and got on the end of that (she plays Left Back ) .

Was it ever disclosed exactly why the lights went out?  I would've thought if it was something out of Springs control such as fuse, network grid failure then the result at the time would've stood.  If it was something that Springs had control over and should not have allowed to happen then I can understand the match being replayed.

They were on a timer to go off at 9.45 (but went off five minutes early at 9.40, seemingly because the timer's clock was five minutes fast.

So that leaves Eastern Suburbs and Auckland United without a game maybe they can play their next League game in this slot (although AU might grab an extra week for their injuries to recover some more ) ??

Yeah there is no substance to the theory Springs did anything shady with the lights - they were timewasting in extra time as soon as they went ahead so would have been a dump thing to do.

Apparently lights off are at 9:50pm - timer inside the light box was 9 minutes fast (confirmed by council on Monday) so lights went out at 9:41 with a minute or two left in extra time.
NRF/NZF should never have let it be scheduled at 7:15pm as there was never time for spot kicks should it be required but the regulations are not specific enough so expect that to change to be very clear about the window required for a cup game in future seasons.

Having been at the first game you know that game when the lights went out and will admit a WS fan of course went along again yesterday it even started to get abit darker late in 2nd half (some joker asking for the lights to be turned on drew some smiles) .
Back to the game WS had some players back who’d missed the game at Suburbs inc the 2 goal scorers in this game .
Rovers were in it for a long way after Springs first goal that really was a cross that turned into the perfect shot by Pederson (she might like to think of shooting more when she cuts in from the wing which was able to do several times again in the 2nd half ) but the likes of Knott and Savage are capable of pulling the right strings for Rovers but WS have 2 very willing participants in that midfield with Innes and the ever impressive Emma Pijnberg for a young Starlet she gives  WS fans Wow moments almost every game and yes their were more gasps at her footwork in yesterday’s game .
But then to sum things up abit quicker you had Springs Defenders all contributing along with Rina Hirano gliding around the pitch and then as he did in that 1st game Ryan Faithful brings on the relatively unknown Kitty Jacob who scored a wonder strike to get it to 2-2 which took that game to extra time ,this time she supported an attack not long after coming on in a forward role and took that chance then 10 mins later this girl doesn’t do average goals she takes the ball in her stride and on the bounce produces some technique to volley over the keeper from 25yrds out quite the goal she just beams and almost shrugs her shoulders in a way that says “is that what you wanted me to do “ just so cool to see it and have others see what some have seen her do in youth football . Super sub yes and how she gets more minutes to show her skills is now on Ryan and his team but with WS almost a certain team in the National League creating some reserves who can contribute when asked has to be pleasing as I think they are lacking players (and other clubs are as well)  who can step up and fill a role .

So another match to sort out and a Home tie for Springs some saying has to be midweek to help the league stay on track (the semis will have 2 sides involved so the league games due that weekend are all going to messed with anyway ).
Semis draw tomorrow .

Anyone think NZF with the catch up match drawn at Seddon Fields for Western Springs and Suburbs not allowing a night match this time ?
Midweek to avoid messing with league games seems obvious but for me make them play it on a Sunday and try and pick a round where Hamilton aren’t affected so the other 2 matches could each maybe do a midweek catch up game ?

This tie could go all the way to Pens so need the time (I know midweek they could start earlier but then it’s Auckland traffic people rushing after work /Uni /school give the tie some respect and a big match day build up and prep for Coaches and players and loads of supporters ) ?

Well Springs aren’t going to win anything in current form after a good win 3-0 in Cup over Rovers (game replay) a loss 4-0 to Hamilton at home (was first home loss of season ) followed quickly by a 3-1 at home loss to Ellerslie I’ll suggest keep an eye out for Jeremy’s match Report I think he’ll be suggesting it could and should have been 6-8 goals for Ellerslie .
And I hope he doesn’t totally condemn Springs Keeper Perry as many tell me she has faults that would not see you getting into FFDP but she has been ,let alone make youth sides as 3rd GK .
Her form and let’s concentrate on last night albeit missing Captain Lily Jervis who does bind their back play together between the GK and other defenders so a huge miss without her (they started their goal scoring Supersub from cup games at Centre Back a first Prem start in that position I think .
Sorry as per JRs report he will say WS attempts to play out from the back and Perry’s hasty clearances gave Ellerslie so so many chances Perry did make up for some with follow up saves (But the phrase Self inflicted pressure will be used I’d say ) .
Cunningham Lee bearing down on you is a sight but even she will say or be told she has to do better (and since I went there with Perry it’s a worry she’s been in NZ camps and FFDP at times and her confidence varies so much that she doesn’t finish better ?) She and her other forwards blew multiple chances .

Ellerslie are good value in a athletic battle all the way type team but creatively don’t have much to offer so to be given the game  (there you go I said it ) by the side who were clear top side for 1/2 the season and I think I worked it out need just one more result to make the top 4 and National League .

Eastern Suburbs in the Cup catch up I think a Thursday night 7pm (yes early ko) at Seddon with finishers like Parris and O’Brien will wreck havoc if Springs don’t get players back young Pijnenberg was a huge absentee as well (had an NZ U20s camp this week so couldn’t play ?( who are they preparing for oh the coach and staff to retain their jobs maybe)she was there to watch .
Suburbs won’t have a problem on this WS don’t have a backup Prem keeper (Kitty the goal scoring sub who as I said went to CB has started in goal as well maybe it’s her) just to let Perry have a week off but does that lower her already low confidence levels probably (can they spark her up they have a GK coach and Ryan F she needs confidence and maybe some decent one on one for the next week particularly might help her) nobody likes to see a player who had some ability go through times like this as said she’s been in NZ squads at U17s she’s played behind some good players at school and clubs I’m thinking it’s in her head now .

Can I ask if your side is continually getting into trouble (playing out in this case and you see sides here the Ferns v Oz 1st goal actually it was a lot like that ) wouldn’t you stop that ploy at least for 10min or more ?
This is when Head Coaches earn their pay and Faithful is on a good wicket at WS and done well till now let’s see .
Was it Andreas Heraf who liked to avoid playing out alot but instead wanted  long Goal kicks but to an area where you’ve overloaded it with players to win the ball higher up (Maybe just maybe it wasn’t a bad thought ) .

Let’s say it’s opened up the league for many scenarios now .
But sides won’t mind seeing WS as next up opponent right now and will invite the pass back to GK and set up some speed players to press them.

So I've heard that NZF wants the cup semifinals to be done by 31 October, but this is hardly looking likely at the moment especially regarding Eastern Suburbs and Auckland (considering Level 3 seems to be there to stay for a while there).

So what's their plan if they can't? Play them later? Send WU and Coastal to the final by default? Cancel the comp altogether?

I don't understand how this competition not been cancelled yet? Surely NZF can't continue to string this along until 2022? If it would be too difficult due to regulations to run the National Leagues in early 2022; how would it be any different for the KS Cup?
