Only in the meekest of ways, and he didn't criticise United nor his buddies the Glazers. Again, Fergie will know everything about this but he knows where his money comes from.

"I’m not sure [if] Manchester United are involved in this....".

hilarious, especially when the Glazers are one of the leaders behind all this.

Woodward gone, earlier than planned. Thrown under the bus by the owners.

We can only hope that the Glazers follow FSG, allegedly, and sell up. But who would buy? A Saudi oil sheik? Is that any better?

I've always quietly held the belief that Woodward isn't as bad as he's made out. yes he can't negotiate to save himself, but other than transfer issues I think he's left the footballing side of the club to the manager.

Not defending him - but as CEO your job is to do what the owners want.

Definitely looks like he's been thrown under the bus by the Glazers here. Fudge the Glazers!

Edit:

I'm definitely not defending Woodward here. I just think in 5 years time when the interviews start leaking of what was happening it'll be very interesting to se the full picture.

That's a piss weak statement if ever I saw one. I mean, I'm glad they're out but I want to see the owners sweat, to see and feel the wrath.

Glazer's, time to sell up and get out of our club! Even if fans were allowed in, I doubt those gutless pricks would ever be welcome to show their face around OT ever again. Cowards, greedy cowards, pure and simple.

Woodward gone is a good start, but he should've gone years ago.

Woodward was in charge of some absolutely dire signings, while he may have been made to look bad by what the Glazers ask him to do, that means he is a gutless yes man at best. The club is better off without him, and will be without the Glazers as well (hopefully).

The ESL could be the catalyst for some long-overdue organisational change and Woodward heading out the door is a great first step, but it is just a battle the fans have won in what will likely be a bigger war - I'd be very surprised if this idea never rears its head again.

Love United, Hate Glazer!
Love United, Hate Glazer!
Love United, Hate Glazer!

That's about as token an apology as it gets. The Glazers and the other 11 owners were caught out and now they want to try sweep it under the rug like nothing has happened and try and extend some sort of olive branch to the supporters, saying we should build for the future together. Fudge off cod. This will long live in the memory of all football supporters - not just United fans, but every single person who has a love for this game. We will never forget what has transpired over this past 5-6 days.

Should never let these rats feel welcomed at OT or in Manchester again. If he can try it once, he'll definitely try it again. He's a money man who could care less about supporters and the club, all they see is 'customers' with wallets to bleed dry....

They're parasites, and will continue taking money out of the club without ever thinking of bettering, improving or investing in Manchester United. They could give a flying fudge about this club, as long as it remains a cash cow for them.

#Glazersout!

Unfortunately, it's even more evidence for other teams that thou shalt park 10 men in front of goal against United. 😂

You know the hardest part of being a United fan right now? There's a whole section of the fanbase that launch into crisis mode because we concede two goals. It's insufferable.

Yeah I've pretty much stopped engaging in any Man United chat online on game days, its just not worth it. Too many muppets who think they know it all but have no clue, myself included probably.

We should do what we can to keep Cavani for at least one more season, although his intentions are to return to South American - to Boca Juniors, I believe.

He's a focal point that nobody else provides, and he likes to drop deep to link up well with others. Often his passes are weighted just perfectly, as shown with his teamwork with Bruno Fernandes today.

Great result for the reds this morning. Bring on Villareal in the final.

Would love to see more of El Matador, not sure he's overly keen though, based off what Ole said today.

"[He] worked really hard to get back fit. He knows my feelings. He knows I would love to have him here. I promised him Old Trafford is a different place with fans. I am doing my best. Hopefully we will see him here for another year."

Disappointing, but not overly bothered. Amad is decent. I'm not sure about Elanga. Thought he did a couple of dumb things. How typical Manchester United of us that a relative no name scores their debut goal against us with a volley to the top corner.

I'm not really fussed what happens with the final games now. Reflecting on the season, we lost 5 games overall. A lot of the bad results came early and that's no surprise without a pre-season. If we can tighten up the dumb shark (going 1 goal down every other game) and find one more source of goals we are Premier League contenders next year.

You should expect to be after this.
It's been a very good season overall I would've thought, particularly if you win the Europa League.
If you were to win your last 3 league games and finish with 79 points, then mathematically you're only about 4 different match results off a title, perhaps less depending on the competitiveness of the league next year.
People seem to think there's this mysteriously difficult barrier to go from not winning the league to winning the league, but actually there isn't. It's only a very small margin in cases like this. Once you do win it, revisionist history will take hold and make us feel that there was some enormous difference between the winner and everyone else, when there really wasn't.

To challenge for the title one has to have quality players. Right now we only have about three players that would get in the City starting X1. That is how far we are behind. The owners need 5 players at least and I doubt we will get 3.
It does not matter if we win all our remaining games, the bottom line is we are still not in the same league as City.
Of course all the one eyed will say we beat them twice. True, but overall we were not good enough.
We have a manager that makes subs when we are defending corners. Junior coaches don't do that.

Agree entirely paulm, and Leggy's follow-up post proves how misguided some fans are.

The Ole out talk is madness and quite frankly anyone who says it is showing they know very little about management (both in a football and non-football context).

Never mentioned anything about Ole out.  I made a legitimate comment.
It is my opinion that he is out of his depth but I don't call for his sacking. He unfortunately won't win us the EPL title.

Which part of my comments were misguided.
1. Only 3 of our players would make the City starting X1
2, A junior coach would never have made a sub at a defensive corner.

How many of Leicester's title-winning 2016 side would make Man City's team?
Mahrez.
Vardy and Kante close, but they actually wouldn't suit the style.

Am an United 2nd team with a couple of first teamers lost 4-2 at QPR and any of the 22 players on the field would have loved to have claimed any of 3 goals the Hoops scored. Cutting in from the right and long range type efforts.

3 goals for Bruno
4 assists for Pogba
5 for United.

That was some welcome back for the fans at Old Trafford. Brilliant stuff! Really thought it was going to be a tussle after a top drawer equaliser by Ayling early in the 2nd half, but we damn well blew them out of the water with those 4 goals in 15 minutes.

First game of the campaign done and dusted, focus and then on to the next one at Southampton next week.

Also, welcome Rapael Varane - who was announced having signed today. Good to see Sancho make his debut in front of a raucous home crowd too.

They're not exactly similar players.

Matic was dreadful though, him and Fred must've given the ball away 15 times between them in the first half.

I don't disagree with the starting line-up but man we were dreadfully sloppy for large portions of the game.

Doubt we'll see Martial start again any time soon. He was terrible. Seems to have lost all ability to dribble.

In regards to the line-up, think we really need to get to a place where Pogba can star tin midfielder with Bruno and someone else. Then have two proper wingers - Sancho and Rashford. With Greenwood up front.

Sancho, Varane and Ronaldo for less than £150m is good business no matter how you spin it. One and a half Jack Grealishs.

I guess he'll play as a 9 mostly, but our front 4 seem to rotate heavily so he'll pop up everywhere. He'll get goals and I cannot wait to watch it.

Think this is bad news for Martial, who's definitely behind Cavani as a 9 option and now behind Ronaldo as well. Likely limits Greenwood to right wing for the season as well.

I still think there's a gaping hole in midfield needing filling, but AWB's lack of quality getting forward seems like somewhat less of an issue now, we have so many other options which should help shore up the defence. Excited to see Varane as well. Pieces are falling into place for a title challenge.

We will only know if spending $150M in addition to all the previous purchases is good business if they win something significant. Ronaldo will demand a large weekly payment.
