Think flicks summed it up "Chasing Great can't rise above feeling like a current affairs profile piece with great production values and access."

The 7 psychopaths. Christopher Walken is excellent, Colin Farrell etc are all very good. Almost a Tarantino movie.

No but I also plan on seeing it.

Call Me By Your Name is also the best depiction  of love in film I have ever seen and you should all watch it.

I don't think I'm familiar with the marvel comic that it's based on.

It's in my top 10 all time. So well directed and acted. Brilliantly funny and tragically sad in the space of 30 seconds.

Probably not a great first date movie

I watched Geo Storm last night. Some mindless escapism which had an interesting story, excellent special effects (bluray version or 4k essential). Acting was alright. As I said pure escapism that is not going to win an Academy award but I enjoyed it.

Just finished watching Season 3 of the TV series. Dare I say it, it's probably better than Sopranos.

If you want to watch some non sensical fun with lots of action, then 'Hardcore Henry' is right for you. I had a great time watching it. The story isnt exactly there for most people, but serves enough of a base line for the movie to make sense. But that's not the point of the movie. The point was to create a kick-ass action movie all filmed through the first person view of a Go Pro. A definite must watch for action lovers

Watched "What Dreams may Come" - a Vincent Ward Film from the 90's with Robin Williams. Bluray from JB's. Although a serious film about redemption and dying, wow what a visual spectacle. I liked it when it first came out in the theatre and I really liked it this time around. Although it was sad too. Robin Williams although he had humourous moments, he shows a serious acting talent when in a straight role. RIP Robin, you were excellent in this film. I shed a tear or 3.

Juliette, Naked.

From the film fest. Not what you think! It's actually a rom-com the way rom-coms should be. Quirky, a few surprises thrown in and that Irish fella from bridesmaids. It will return.

Couple of classic Italian movies (with subtitles) for ya:

1) Mediterraneo: Italian troops stranded on a small Greek island in WW2 - comedy with a bit of existentialism thrown in. Absolute gold.

2) Nuovo Cinema Paradiso: The story of a young man and his fascination with movies growing up in Sicily. Beautiful - you'll probably recognize the soundtrack once you hear it.

3) If you have Netflix, check out the TV series "Suburra". The dubbing is atrocious, so I recommend watching it in Italian with ENG subs...

The Insult.

The Insult uses its familiar courtroom drama framework to deliver a hard-hitting statement on modern Middle Eastern politics that's as gripping as it is thought-provoking.

Free Solo is a fantastic documentary about the first man to attempt to climb a huge cliff called El Capitan without any ropes.

Won the academy award and stuff like that.

It's on Sky for free here: https://www.skygo.co.nz/search?genre=&rating=&sortBy=LATEST&type=&text=free%20solo

Or you can buy or rent it from iTunes.

Watched Bohemian Rhapsody the other day. 5/5 stars. I'm a huge Queen fan but even my wife who's not overly into them couldn't believe how good it was.
The main actor does a great job of emulating Freddie's mannerisms and the actor playing Brian May looks more Brian May than.....the actual Brian May!

Fun fact, the guy who plays John Decon (who also looks a lot like him) is the wee lad from Jurassic Park (Timmy).

"The Keeper"
One of the best football feature film dramas.
Screened in cinemas in NZ in 2019.
Life story of Bert Trautmann, the German Manchester City goalie of the 1950's and 1960's (1949 - 1964).
Shows that good players can be scouted from anywhere, in this case a POW camp for German prisoners in Lancashire at the end of the war.
An amazing and controversial life story with Trautmann and Man City facing massive hostility initially even from their own fans by signing a former Nazi soldier so soon after the war (20,000 demonstrated outside Maine Road).
First foreign player to be awarded the English "Footballer of the Year" title.
"In the 1956 FA Cup Final, as City take a strong 3–1 lead Bert is again winning plaudits for his masterful goalkeeping, when a dangerous collision with Birmingham City player Peter Murphy shatters a vertebra in his neck and almost costs him his life. With 20 minutes of the game left to go, and clearly in a bad state, Trautmann refuses to leave the field and continues to make several brave saves, stopping Birmingham City from scoring any further goals and thus winning City the Cup."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Keeper_(2018_film)
Trautmann in his first seasons at Maine road, was a team mate of legendary midfielder Billy Walsh, an Ireland international who later immigrated to NZ and played for Eastern Suburbs and one unofficial match for the All Whites:
