Match highlights here, incl Just's goal (1st one). Liam Jordan's is the 2nd goal.

Pity Helsingor's form first half of the season (pre winter break) was pretty average, which ruined any promotion chances. 2nd half of the season they have been red hot (9W 1D 2L).

Crowds back in Danish football.

Quality finish.

Has had a productive year goal wise, considering he missed a large section injured.

Any word on the LB who joined him there at the start... seems to have been injured for over a year now!?

Dalton Wilkins, injured September last year, and not played since. So obviously a major one.

Feel those two - Just and McCowatt, are the next ones to step up and make a real impact in Europe. Hell, if they keep up this form they'll be in the Danish Superliga next season! Long season ahead of course, but very promising signs. Of those two, McCowatt needs more time to settle, whereas football comes very naturally to Just (I think he's got a higher ceiling too, but that's just my opinion).

Here's hoping Dalton Wilkins gets a decent amount of game time this season too after injury severely limited his time on the pitch last term.

Damn I wish the All Whites played more! 😖

Yes long way to go in the season, but if Helsingor got promoted, I guess why wouldn't they stay there. Danish Superliga a very decent level, and they are also getting good game time at Helsingor as well, which is most important. As Hay said in AV's article today, he wants most of Oly White/AW contingent to go back to their clubs and be playing regularly. Just, McCowatt & Wilkins are all young so plenty of time to move onwards later.

I'm sure Uncle Declan across the water in Sweden, will be giving them his thoughts on their career trajectories.

Celebrates his contract extension with a goal in the DBU Pokalen (Danish Cup).

Helsingør up 3-1 currently against skjolde and look good to go through to the next round.

Just and McCowatt both started on the bench. No word yet as to whether McCowatt has come on though.

Finished 3-1 in a 3rd round tie. Helsingør won their previous 2nd round game against HB Koge, where Stamenic is now headed.

Just came on at HT, and McCowatt at 60th min. Liam Jordan scored the first goal.

FIFA break now, which will give Pijnaker time to settle in.

I had hoped that either of these two would maybe got a move somewhere at a higher level.

Still good to see they have long-term contracts with a team chasing promotion (I wonder if they have non promotion release clauses or similar).

Could also look at it from an angle similar to the one the Nix took with Ben Waine.

Other clubs may have cast their eyes over the pair of them, and Helsingør have simply looked to lock them in for a couple more years in order to get a good fee if someone decides they want to go in for them.

That's how I see it anyway.

Besides, if they keep this good run of form going, who knows, they could be plying their trade in the Danish Superliga next season. I'd hazard a guess that that's what the pair of them would've been thinking ahead of extending.

All that said, it's just good to see Kiwi's doing well on the regular in Europe week in, week out.

Hot streak for Helsingør's Kiwis continues.

Just with a double, and McCowatt credited with 2 assists as Helsingør (1st) win at 2nd placed Fredericia 4-2. Virtually a 6 point game.

Just subbed off at 76 mins (score 3-1), and McCowatt off at 86 mins (4-1).
Liam Jordan subbed on at 56 mins. No Pijnaker.

Yeah but they are getting regular game time, at a club with strong chance of promotion to Danish Superliga - a real good level.

Why not stay until May next year, and see if you can get promoted. If that fails, then look at your options.

They'll surely be receiving advice in the background from Declan around any potential career move. I have a feeling that both contract extensions were good pieces of business from Helsingør.

If the pair of them keep up their good form they'll definitely have some decisions to make in the not too distant future. In saying that, if they also keep up this form they'll be in the Danish Superliga next year.

Maybe a bit of goal competition between the two Kiwis?
The benefit of the AWs getting together at the Olympics showing with a real boost in the club motivation, play and fortunes of Just, McCowatt, Bell, and Stensness. It’s a pity there hasn’t been much Nix action possible yet. And Champness and Pjnaker getting moves too.

Match highlights here. All the goals in thr 2nd half. Helsingor were clincial. It could easily have been 4-4 and I think their GK was MOM. Seems Fredericia are one of their main promotion rivals, so nice to win away with a game that would have had an edge to it.

Just's first goal a nice strike. He does hit a few from range with that left peg. McCowatt 2 assists & the pre assist for Helsingor's 4th goal, with some lovely control plus through ball.

From this week's Flying Kiwis. Neither Flashscore or Soccerway listed Pijnaker on the bench, but lets presume he was.

FCH coach Morten Eskesen on his post-game message for Eli Just: “Well, there is not much else to say to him but 'nice'. We have told him that he must shoot, and he has started to do so with great success. We had caught him during the break and asked him to shoot more and fortunately he listened to that.”

Hey and you know what else? Nando Pijnaker was on the bench for that game. Didn’t play but it was the first time he’s been involved in a match day squad since joining on loan at the start of the month.

Helsingør's run on side only had 6 starters from their big game against promotion rivals Fredericia on the weekend. Could be in many ways that the league is just a higher priority, than trying for a run in the Danish Cup.

McCowatt replaced Just at HT. That wouldn't happen normally.
Liam Jordan got 15 mins off the bench late on, which is pretty normal.

Differing priorities I guess. You'd think 3-0 F/T and it's a hiding but scouring around for stats and feedback on the match, and even looking into feedback from Odense and overall the consensus was they were just far more clinical.

Helsingør with more ball and more shots and were generally an attacking threat overall, but just lacking the quality on that final pass and their finishing.

Looking around on the Helsingør side of things, generally the fans expected this result (probably not as heavy) and they're well aware that the main focus is on the league and maintaining a push for promotion to the Superliga.

100%, saw the whole game and really they had more of it, unfortunately OBs keeper in inspired form and OB were pretty relaxed anyway as they were always 3-0 ahead. Helsingoer not clinical enough and tbh Just had a pretty quiet game (McCowatt came on and played alright).

Disappointing 2-2 draw at home to last placed Hobro.

62 minutes for Just.
73 minutes for McCowatt. No Pijnaker in the squad from what I can see.

No goal contributions from the Kiwi duo today however.

Could've opened up the gap at the top to six points with a win, with second placed Fredericia being thumped 3-0 by HB Køge.

Yes missed opportunity against the bottom side, to put a 6 point gap on their promotion rivals. Still a nice 4 pt buffer, helped by Fredericia's loss to Stamenic's HB Køge.

Liam Jordan was subbed off at 73 mins with McCowatt.

Might take a while for Pijanker to get his chance. Helsingør have only conceded 11 goals in 10 league games.

Good recovery from Helsingør to get back on equal terms, but feel they'll be quite disappointed with their start. Hopefully out of the blocks quickly in the 2nd half.

Seems like these blokes Just and McCowatt have been pretty quiet of late. Helsingør haven't exactly been in the best of form either - 1 win in the last 5 matches.

Bouncing back to the top of the league this morning however with a crushing 4-1 win over fellow promotion contenders Fredericia.

69 minutes for McCowatt, 83 minutes for Just, each with an assist (2nd and 3rd goals respectively). No Pijnaker in the matchday squad.

All three now link up for International duty this coming week.
