Ok I don’t like that the goal stands. I think it’s not in the spirit of the game.

But I will take it and laugh at it for the rest of the game!!

totally correct decision, no foul, no reason to stop play just because the keeper falls over. Play on, take the goal!

lol Man U worried about the balls, get them changed - always blame the equipment not how bad you're playing.

I was watching with no sound and thought the only reason it shouldn't stand would be if there was a whistle. On mute it looked fine, you guys telling me there was no whistle confirms that. And Elneny and ESR both had eyes on the ball and clearly didn't know de Gea was down, so there's not even a moral argument on their part either.
Having said that I'd be seething as a ManU fan and can totally understand the dismay. Pretty unfortunate.

Doesn't appear to be anything wrong with De Gea either. Felt the contact so went down thinking he'd get a free kick and relieve the pressure. That it was from his teammate means there was no foul and his play acting had consequences.

good to see we've kept Ronaldo relatively quiet. He has a poor scoring record against us which is good, but it could mean he's set to score his 800th career goal against us.

I'm sure De Gea had done similar in the past (but might be wrong). Fundamentally he's hitting the deck because he's so shark at corners he's looking for an easy way out.

Poor quality game really, two bad defences out there. Our whole side should be getting smacked bums during the video review of that one, we were caught out of position all the time on transition, we gave up so much space on the counter, and so many chances.
Having said that we definitely should've scored more - their defence and positioning were just as bad. We had a ton of space and numbers so many times, but couldn't make it count.
Ahh well, it's not too damaging for us, but it is disappointing to score twice and not get anything.
We're well placed in 5th. Need to sort out this midfield headache in January and just keep plugging away. 4th is basically there for the taking this season in my opinion.

Goal definitely had to stand, but they could have showed a little contrition rather than celebrating like that scoring past a keeper on the deck, but that's just me.

so whats eveyone think about Auba at the moment? I think his overall pressing and tactical game has increased, but his end product and touch have gone awol. He should be our elite striker terrorising defences yet he hasn't looked dangerous for quite some time now.

Wowe. Didn’t see xhaka coming back for a while. Hope he’s ready. Auba also takes a rest with laca leading the line and KT comes in. COYG!

Arteta seemed confident that he was fit and ready, hopefully hea d and Partey can work well together, think starting lacazette was a good move, Auba has been missing in the last couple of games.

I used to think that was just his game - elite finisher, but without good service you wont see him all day.
But there are certain performances that have shown he could and should be more than that. The big example for me was tottenham this season. He was everywhere in that game, I never saw him press so hard, and contribute so often away from the goal. It was reminiscent of King Thierry - just always in the game, making things happen. But he can't dial that in every game it seems, I haven't seen that sort of performance since.
After we sort out another midfield option or two, striker is the glaring area we need to sort out. It seems Laca and Auba will not be around for us too much longer, and the next in line are a bit young. We need a big purchase there.

We’ve been terrible and a loss is the right result. Partley has been bang average. Xhaka isn’t up to it any more and I blame him for the space that gray had for his goal.
Auba summed up where he is at with the last kick of the game.

We can make all the beautiful passing out from the back but it doesn’t mean shark if we can’t create at the other end.

Terrible 3 game run for us. Can't expect much from Anfield but expected some points at Old Trafford and/or Goodison. So many missed chances today.
Next few league games:
Southampton at home
West Ham at home
Leeds away
Norwich away
Wolves at home
We should be targeting a LOT of points from that group.

That was about a predictable result as you’d expect (made £ at Everton winning 26:1 in the 70th - that obvious).

The selection of Xhaka was odd. It felt less about him and more about trying another partner with Partey to get more out of him.

Tierney being yanked early said it all, if he’d played him sooner or at least built his fitness up in other matches he’d have been ready to start.

I’m also 100% convinced Pepe shagged Arteta’s wife, it’s the only explanation for his lack of game time.

Back to the drawing board for this boss here, needs to figure out how to get the talent we have firing again.

Brumbys, re: Pepe, I think he might be done.
He's had opportunities this season and has not delivered. Arteta's comments on Nketiah yesterday made it pretty clear to me that Pepe is being out-trained right now, by both Nketiah and Martinelli.
Pepe got the starts at the beginning of the season. He was unavailable for one game, but started the other 4 out of our first 5 PL matches. No goals, no assists.
The next game he was dropped, and we scored 3 times in a break-through performance against Spurs.
He was overtaken by Saka and ESR from that point, and now there are opportunities again with ESR and Saka starting to fatigue, Arteta is giving Martinelli and now Nketiah the chances. Martinelli has looked good and justified that. Nketiah got the nod off the bench yesterday as he's out-trained Pepe and earned it, going by Arteta's comments.
Personally I feel we're ready to jettison both Auba and Pepe  and replace them with one big striker signing. If we did that, I think it would be useful to retain Lacazette - he's a more valuable squad player than Aubameyang, and more of an all-rounder off the bench.
I think Odegaard, ESR, Saka, Martinelli, Lacazette and Balogun could carry our forward roles with the addition of a top level striker to lead the line (assuming Nketiah is going after rejecting the new contract offer).
Obviously a big call re: Auba but I feel it might be just about time now.

Come at me all you want with logic and reason, but in a boring season I prefer starting the rumour of Pepe shagging Artetas wife.

In other news I’m glad we aren’t in Europa this season as Barcelona would have knocked us out in the R16 to introduce a new sharktier tradition for both teams.

need a win today, interesting to hear that Auba skipped training and isnt in mathday squad at all being disciplined. What the fudge is up with our capt. He sulks cos he's subbed being in the worst form at the moment and then he missing training. What an arse!
