Party time in Lima. Peru (5th) 2-0 winners over Paraguay.

They will play UAE or Socceroos in the other IC playoff game.

Chile ended losing 0-2 to Uruguay at home. So no final World Cup for likes of Alexi Sanchez, Medel & Vidal (all aged 33-34).

Colombia (6th) won 1-0 in Venezuela but finished a point behind Peru. Their shock home loss to the Peruvians back in January, proving mortal.

Uruguay (3rd) off to their 4th consecutive WC. Impressive effort from a country of 3.5 million. Last big dance for the old dog Suarez/Cavanni combo.

Ecuador were 4th.

Bolivia 0 - 4 Brazil
Ecuador 1 - 1 Argentina
Peru  2 - 0 Paraguay
Chile 0 - 2 Uruguay
Venezuela  0 - 1 Colombia

Argentina (2nd) & Brazil (1st) stay have to play each other, after that game they had cancelled in farcical scenes last year.

AWs win tomorrow, NZF to reach out to the Peru FA (there must be some old emails there from 2017!) and say you want to play a closed doors friendly start of June/late May??

Sell it as AWs play similar to Socceroos! FFA may not be happy about the idea though. However at senior men's level what do we owe Australia - haven't played us in what seems forever.

Note Socceroos will unlikely be available for a game, as schedule likely too tight with them playing UAE 6th June. Intercontinental Playoffs are 13th-14th June.

So you'd think AWs will have a friendly sometime, about 3rd-6th June, giving themselves a decent break before the Playoff game. They may even sneak in an earlier friendly late May (maybe mostly a B side), but then starts to get a bit tight with end of the long European club seasons. Wood's Newcastle play their last EPL game 22nd May for example.
