2-0 today and Becks scored the best goal of his life, a sublime bicycle kick.  Pity it got ruled for off side as he would have had a hat trick.

Even though I've seen a number of Leeds games here in the UK inc. the play off final loss at Wembley to bloody Doncaster, this is the first time I've been to Elland Road and was right on the centre line at pitch level, a very different experience to being stuck up the back at the Emerites etc.

I wasn't the only kiwi going there for the first time either, a family from AKL made the programme.

Despite all of this income, Leeds are still scrabbling around trying to pick up players on the cheap. It doesnt bode well. Should Leeds miss out on promotion, they cannot continue to hold out for a string of lucrative cup ties each season.

This article was awful. Did it ask any serious questions or just try to foment disquiet? Who said that players have to be expensive? AS for Piet's football knowledge, let him stick to his rugby and cricket!!   <rant over>

Don't worry, its just a classic case of certain pissed of British media trying to have a dig at Leeds/Ken Bates.  Nothing out of the ordinary.

It's wonderful that cup competitions are out of the way and they can concentrate on the league. It is going to be a good year for both Leeds and the Phoenix.

Ouch! One win in seven... The sooner Leeds the better... give the current cocky line up of forwards a bit of a shake up!

Two losses from two games. Not the start I would have hoped for but it's still a long way to go. Anything but promotion should be considered a failure this season

The season start off has got to be the worst ever to go down to Southhampton broke my heart as I have a mate who's  a die hard Saint's man. We have a night at the club riding on who makes the prems' first and i dont want to spend money on the Saints. If Leeds dont dont sought there game out we'll be hear next year hoping that 2013 will be our year to go up.  GO THE MIGHTY WHITES. This is our year!

that means Leeds will make the playoffs and probably go up. Sadly, too many Leeds fans are again making a bad name for the club.

Warnock will be a huge asset. Now all Leeds really need to do is get rid of Ken "Chelsea" Bates.

Bates is the man that needs the sack at that club. Selling all of the clubs best players while maintaining to grayson that promotion was the main goal. Then when the team doesn't preform sacking him after having to rely on loan signings. 33 loan signings in graysons reign at the club shows a damn tight owner. Grayson is very well regarded and Leeds have really missed out there. I'm sure he will be back to haunt them!

Just as long as he does. I don't really care who is manager just as long as we go up this year. Another season in the Championship won't be a good thing

Looking forward to how preseason will go in Aus. Six new signings at this stage. Nice and early. Be interested if we stay in the 4-2-3-1 shape or go to Marsch's favoured 4-2-2-2.
The First half versus Blackpool game yesterday looked good, even though all internationals and all but one of the new signings were on the bench. Marco looked good, nice left footed passes, though may be interesting how many yellow cards he collects in the season. Hopefully Raphina sorted soon.

Raphina sold-was a good player for leeds-big future- interesting if he enjoys being a bench player for barca-hopefully he gets paid, as well as leeds
Good hit out against brisbane- looks like be 4-2-3-1- some nice moves up front -anderson scored in first 19 seconds but offside. Marsh having a preseason seems to be making a difference- last 12 weeks of last season was just a rescue job.
Marca is going to get plenty of yellows this season . Bamford some game time so hopefully he has a injury free season- newcastle apparently interested in harrison -imagine they would need to pay a lot for leeds to sell him, having sold raphina and phillips.
Sounds like archie gray, the 16 year old will be getting premier league game time this year-big future it seems.
Aston villa tomorrow afternoon- hopefully more progress.

Game tonight against Crystal palace.
Starting eleven for leeds looks very close to full strength except for forshaw. Roca i  imagine will start opening day against wolves.
As we have no left back fit at present could land up be Strujk for a while.
Hopefully one signed soon.
Interesting how Sinisterra goes tonight -first start- big wraps so hope does well.
Amazing to think of the team that won the championship,  all that will be left of that team starting against wolves on opening day this season will be  Bamford and Harrision ( if cooper is still injured  and assuming Newcastle dont get Harrison before opening day).
One in a million

No, not great- but impression given seems to be its not to serious.
Seems like a striker, left back and back up goal keeper to get and that will be it.
if that occurs will be nine new first team signings. going to be quite a different looking team start of season.

Tough ask coming in after Beilsa
Still high press but more compact-
Bielsa used width with fullbacks wings overlapping runs , switch of plays with Phillips at the base or in front of,  avoided the centre of the field- for three seasons it produced wonderful football to watch. high risk but great entertainment great passing moves . individual players improved out of sight.. Last season was a really sad way for it to end.
Marsh is quite different it seems - i think hes now got a stronger overall squad to work with, it will be a lot of play thru the middle i suspect with little width. the players hes got in appear to suit that system. Should be less exposed at the back.
im hoping for 9th/10 place this coming season - will still get beaton by the big boys, but all other teams i think we have a good chance with.

final preseason game done 6-2 win
90 minutes for all starters - some nice play
still a bit suspect on counter attack  a concern but otherwise looking good
first 7 games -wolves, southampton, chelsea, brighton , everton, brentford, nottingham forest  - i may be dreaming but 5 wins out of that should not be impossible- hopefully!

Great start to season
A win against Southhampton next not impossible either..
Aaronson- very impressive, Roca nice distribution, Ras at right back will be a fan favourite, Adams making a pest of himself.
And Simester hopefully available in next couple of weeks which should make us stronger.
As expected a lot of direct up the middle play.
still a striker , left back and back up goal keeper to come and would have been a really good window - appears a few players going to be sold in next few weeks - been a real refreshing of the club
still on for 9th/10th place for season

felt like a loss the game against southhampton- we needed to sub around 6oth min to regain control and didnt.  4 from 6 possible points not to bad, but being 2 goals up and end up drawing a bit disappointing.

Hoping for a draw against  Chelsea, -heart over head.
we need another striker and left back before end of window.

Sinisterra looks the goods - Great 2 goals for Columbia against Mexico
2 premier league goals in 2 games i think. -
May be one to watch this season.

Gnonto - Young but playing well for Italy
With Aaronson, and Harrison playing well for club, and Bamford back fit, and Perkins scoring goals for fun for England lower level , not to mention Gelhart  -the attacking side of things looks bright
cooper should be back as a centre back against aston Villa.
Ayling also fit again .
For the first time in a long time there will be plenty of options to pick from that are pretty strong.
Hoping Leeds can make a bit of a statement against Aston Villa.

Some realism - Im not enjoying the way Marsh has our team play.
The first three years of Beilsa were brilliant football - the last year a disaster thru injuries and Bielsa not adapting his man marking system which was worked out.
But three of those years the fooball was exciting adventurous and fun .

Last season Marsh kept team up for 12 games he had so accepted.
but this season with new players he wanted etc its awful football - really centralised , really aggressive (unpleasantly so )- high foul rates etc.

Pooch is still available isnt he - a Bielsa disciple but a bit safer.
