Northern and Central/Capital draws don't look right.

Northern has 12 Northern League + 55 others.  Prelim + R1 should whittle 55 down to 20, that is 15 games Preliminary and 20 games in R1, instead there are 16 games in the preliminary which will leave 39 others for R1 (plus the 12 Northern league sides with a bye in R1).

Central will have after the Preliminary round 9 Central League + 3 Central and 14 Capital sides.  Which I guess means 6 Central League sides will have a bye and 3 Central League sides will have a game in R1.  If the 9 Central League sides had a bye to R2, then the preliminary + R1 would be whittling 21 down to 7 which would require 7 preliminary round games, not 4.

I went along to Naenae v Paekakariki, turned out to be a good game and we got some bonus football before Naenaes scored the winner. Paekakariki had a penalty given with minutes to go but Naenae replacement keeper (their 1st keeper broke his leg in first game of the season) saved it.

Bit of shame NZ Football didn't even appear to bother to advise that games where on today. Nothing on Facebook or Twitter about them and their website doesn't even have the 2022 draw up. Can only see them through Capital Football and Northern Region websites.

As predicted, the Northern draw had the wrong number of games in Preliminary Round and we were left with 13 instead of 12 northern sides with a bye in R1.  This looks like it was rectified by Fencibles being the lucky team from NRFL Div 1 to get a bye and join the 12 NRFL Prem sides with a bye.

NRFL Div 1  has scheduled league games in R1, R2 but no games scheduled for  R3, R4, QF, probably the opposite of what it should be!!!.  As you say someone screwed up but then again no one looked at calendar and noticed earlier, or did they and were ignored.  You'd think it would be the same procedure written down and rolled out year after year.   I guess it means you have some spare weekend dates available for catch up games (unless dare I say it you go on a cup run).

I believe R2 was intended on being a double header - that's queens birthday right?  so league game on Saturday and Cup on Monday but yeah the whole thing is a shambles - official document from NZF called this the second round, but NRF called it the first round - who knows what the F is going on.

A good cup tie I suppose but mot much quality. HBC up 3-0 after about half an hour. Mayes(2) and Dickonson the goals. Two very lazy strikers but good finishers.Mayes still has explosive pace and Dicko is Dicko - big ass and reasonable footwork.Penalty just before half time made it 3-1. Mayes hit the crossbar early in the second half but after ythat largely one way traffic - Albany hit the woodwork at least 3 times although HBC were dangerous on the break, To be hoest for the last half hour there was a certain inevtability about Albany winning it. They changed a few things around and took control. Dickonson didn't seem to react to the changing tide (seaside pun unintended),Winner was with about 5 minutes to go .If it had gone to Extra time think Albany would have streaked away with it. Albany very jubilant at the end as expected after coming back from 3-0 down. They did bully HBC a little bit in the second half and a couple of the younger HBG guys really didn;t cope with it. From what I have seen albany have gone backwards a lot in the last 2 years , given they were very close to promotion to Premier League last year.Look miles away from that .HBC won't be getting promotion this year as I understand with the NRF restructuring return to conference football .Not bad afternoons entertainment amd Mr Whippys oice creams are always good value

No match reviews or result related news on NZ Football's website... can't see winners of penalties unless you go to NZ Football website -> Competitions -> Football -> Chatham Cup -> then you have to know to change the Comet filter to "results" and change the round to round 3.

No presence on Twitter for the entire weekend.

Tuesday afternoon and they've written an article about the draw... which doesn't add anything than a copy + paste of the draw.

Pretty garbage media presence all round.

When I was at Uni I’d live tweet games and would get retweeted by that account. Basically had live coverage around the whole country. Apparently not anymore.

Well inside the bottom two without a win all season in the league, into the quarter finals of the cup. Magic of the cup.

for the winning goal, it was a penalty. The Waiheke keeper sets up to take it. He slams it down the middle-ish, the Melville keeper save/parrys it. the ball floats back towards the penatly spot where the Waiheke keeper is. he then smashes a lovely full throated volley into the back of the net. Magic stuff.
