Wouldn't be opposed to Rojas and Krishna returning. Although I'd be a bit worried about the age of our frontline then - Ball, Krishna, Barba, Rojas, all getting on a bit.

I feel this will be Waineo’s last season of development before he’s ready to lead the line. Ben Old on the same trajectory too, just less experienced at the moment.

If Waine does great again this season, this could be his last season at the Phoenix. Do you remember when Coventry City were interested in him at the end of the 2020/21 season?

I think we need a Hemed type striker. Strong target man that can lay off the ball and also has an eye for goal. He seemed to work well in Talay's system.
That's why Lasogga looks like he could fit.
But while in dream land. I'd prefer if the Nix can do a deal with APL and get Ces Fabregas on a Marque. To fill our No. 10 import slot.
That would be a coup.

I actually agree. Unironically, Lasogga seems like a great option.

Juan Mata x Pierre Michel Lasogga is the stuff dreams are made of, now that’s a marquee.

Last year Lasogga. (Edit sorry: not last season. Can’t find 21/22 highlights. )
Looks similar to Hooper’s first dig.
https://youtu.be/5hZ_0WguJUc

Here’s an old hatty:
https://youtu.be/BZG7pt_Mzsw

I mean he does have a similar pedigree to Hooper. Certainly has a better pedigree and goal scoring record than other suggestions so far.

Not sure it would be the worst shout tbh, despite all our laffs.

We need to sign at least 20 goals, maybe more like 25.

Based off the hype of this thread tonight.
Lasogga > Fabregas

Being serious, from what I’ve read about Lasogga, he’s the type of player that will bury every chance he gets, he just needs to be given chances otherwise he’ll be ineffectual.

If we pick him up (or a similar player) I can see him snagging at least 12-15 goals. Get Rojas and that’s another 6 or so, import AM I’d hope to be hitting 8 or 9. Ugarkovic is good for around 3, full season Wootton should snag at least 2 as well. Kosta should find the back of the net at least 4 times too I reckon.

That’s a very solid improvement if it all comes off, but very much just hopeful/speculative at the moment.

Let us also not forget the possibility of Krishna returning. Yes he may be getting towards the end of his career, but finishing it off at the Phoenix could be perfect.

A Krishna retirement run with the Nix would be pure poetry. If he retires with the Nix that might just put him to number 1 on the Phoenix legends list, alongside Ifill and Dura (🐍). He’s already top 3 with those blokes but it sure would be special to see him finish up here, especially if we managed to win the league.

The other thing is despite the different pedigree to Putter etc. this is not how Gilly, Talay and Italiano do their transfers. So far.

Uffie has a lot of different qualities he’s looking for, and a player like David Ball might not immediately seem amazing based on games/goals. Sotirio was a slow burner, but a genuine contributor.

We usually hear from Uffie that he has a list of prospects he’s looking at and it is very rare to hear Wellington bandied in the press about chasing whatever rumor has hit the papers- Sturridge say.

There’s rarely any drawn out saga that we hear about publicly. We get a fairly ready squad and then a steady drip of signings and information.

AM for 8-9 is the big signing in that theory tbh. That’s Davila numbers. We not only need to replace Reno, but with a double goal threat on his best return for us. A bigger goal threat than one of the league’s best in Marco.

We’ve come a long way from my personal forum high point when Cosimo or Cosmo wrote a version of the William Carlos Williams poem ‘This is just to say’ to talk about beers left in the Fever Zone.
Or any of Oi Oi’s player ratings! Those were some gold quality reliable statistics…
My personal favourite was the saga with that fake player we were supposedly linked to. I can't remember his name but I'm pretty sure he had uploaded highlight videos of some random african player and pretended it was him.
My favourite was when Pavlovic went for "medical reasons" then turned up on here calling Herbert a fat fudge, a cod, and saying he knew shark about football because he thought Fenton was better than Rojas.
That wasn't really Pav though, was it?
Anyway, today we're signing either Krishna, Rojas, Lasogga, or Sery Elie de Campos

I really hope we have higher ambitions than Rojas and/or Krishna. Sure both good enough to be effective in the league but it makes our attack very same same, Ball, Kosta, Krisna/Rojas are not getting on the end of any high crosses from our wide players, they are all creative ball players who can score, we really need a Hooper type player and neither of these two offer that,

I'm not a player scout so have limited knowledge of any players that may be available. I know they type of player I'd like to see and if a credible source puts one in front of me then I can assess on that basis.
