Without a shadow of a doubt, Football Ferns WILL thrash other teams in the Oceania qualifying phase. Football Ferns and other womens NZ football teams will need a major catastrophy in not going to their respective FIFA World Cups.

Oceania womens football, and mens football to large extent, is simply too weak to pose any threat or challenge to NZ. That is why the qualifying path through Ocenia has to change, the sooner the better.

Why? we get a free pass into every WC.  Why would you want to change that.  We certainly wouldn't qualify if we had a playoff against an Asian team.

Thought I should point out this hypocrisy of yours AngusBeef.  You said this in the Football Ferns thread.

[QUOTE=AngusBeef]NZ U17 played with courage, pride and with awesome skills. It was just so unlucky that nz didn't grab few more goals against Venezuela. Even against Spain, NZ U17 looked threatening with a most impressive defensive play, just like the All Whites!  NZ U17 will have the size, height and physical presence coupeld with All Whites defensive fortressto grab a surprise against the Japanese side and win at least 4-0. That is a good reason why NZ should remain in the Oceania.

Hayley Moorwood and Ali Riley were on Deaker last night. Pleasantly surprised he featured women's football on his show.

Good patient display by Football Ferns.
Most of goals came in last 10-15 minutes as they wore a defensive Tahiti down.
If you get the opportunity to see amber Hearns goal (I'm sure it is on film somewhere hopefully) then I doubt whether you'll have seen a better goal this year ! 20 yard volley into top corner and you could actually see her lining it up.
tahiti goal keeper outstanding in first half keeping score down.
