Nah Payne and De Jong were never at WS.
But interesting that a few marginal selections like Nando P, Just and De Jong were all at Hay’s most recent coaching assignment. Favouristm perhaps.
more thinking along the lines of him knowing the players'ability but wanting to see how they get on in an international environment
