It annoys me that we are forever left in the dark by NZF.  As you are probably aware, I try my hardest to watch the AWs (and Ferns) when they are nearish the UK but it's hard to organise leave, visas etc with so little warning/security that it's going ahead.  It's been like this since I left NZ in '06.

We all know NZF can be pretty sharkhouse at times but it seems like they're doing they're best to organise fixtures given the circumstances, I'm sure they'd love to have something locked in as well but it's just not that easy.

True, but I dislike how they talk as though they have things tied up when from the outside looking in, they are not. Really, matches should have been sorted long before now.

Covid is a good excuse right now but think back to 2019, NZF wasn't exactly proactive then either.
If we are going to make assumptions on NZF’s recent fixtures, another thing to take note is the fact that Curacao actually had no idea they were available for friendlies until June 2021 when they were taking part in WCQ playoff matches against Panama.

From my understanding to sort out international fixtures requires a number of factors, including cost, travel, and not disrupting the seasons of players who have to self isolate upon return.

Blaming NZF for being poor for past mistakes is one thing, but holding onto that saying they they’re unorganised and can’t get their crap together, especially during a world wide pandemic which literally stops half the squad from travelling is another.

I’m expecting a few announcements this week for friendlies. For me, it’s probably just ironing out the finer details as well as making sure all the COVID-19 protocols are ticked off.
