Some value perhaps in bringing Greive into AWs squad for Jordan & Uzbekistan games, I'll admit. I presume it will again have to be a solely NH based AWs. They are friendlies after all, so why not experiment. Especially if Wood is now battling a groin niggle at Burnley. Need to keep Dyche onside and not unnecessarily overload the Woodsman who's likely to have a heavy schedule now through Jan-Feb.

But OFC Tourney games are not friendlies. Yes even a AWs B team should be too strong for Fiji & PNG. But I think you want to play experienced guys like Barba, Collier etc if you can, rather than raw guys like Greive & Waine when World Cup qualification is in reality on the line.

Edit - Tommy Smith is another who may skip January friendlies (League Two play through FIFA windows) to concentrate on helping Colchester avoid the drop. Then as a favour Colchester may release him for PNG & Fiji games outside March FIFA window, as some sort of deal.

Reid, Pjinaker, M Boxall & Tuiloma look like all being available Jan window. Though Reid could be close to having a new club.
