Given all football stops for the WC but were not a part of it, I'd like to see NZF try and arrange some kind of friendly then, be it in NZ or Europe (London ideally).  No excuses about club commitments etc and there will be a lot of nations free to play, all wishing to be in the spotlight instead of those in Qatar.

Makes alot of sense, and plenty of quality teams around who didn’t make Qatar. Always is with a WC limited to 32 teams.

Big question is do FIFA allow non qualified nations to play friendlies during the big dance? They and all their corporate sponsors may not be keen on 60M Italians more interested in watching the Azurri play a friendly against Colombia in Rome, rather than happenings in Qatar. Likewise the 50M Colombians and so forth.

Edit - actually see that Iceland are down to play a friendly against Saudi Arabia on 6th Nov. Presumably a domestic based Icelandic team, as all the big Euro leagues won't finish until weekend 12th-13th Nov.

AWs could play say Tunisia in nearby Marbella about 16th Nov, then over to Iceland on Easy Jet about 20th for a game day before the WC kicks off.
