New Zealand’s All Whites will play Haiti in a friendly international to prepare for June’s FIFA Men’s World Cup, according to a news report from Florida.
The Miami Herald says the match will go ahead in South Florida on June 3 (NZT), four days before New Zealand play England in Tampa, Florida.
The report attributes the information to Karl-Philippe Alexis, head of marketing and communications for the Haitian Football Federation.
Alexis says Haiti will play warm-up games against New Zealand and Peru ahead of their first World Cup in 52 years.
Haiti are #83 in the FIFA men’s world rankings while New Zealand are #85.
The match is reportedly set to be played at Inter Miami’s recently-opened Nu Stadium in Miami.
“These two matches in Miami against New Zealand and Peru are part of a very intentional approach from the federation,” Alexis told the Herald.
