3 at the Back

I cant see us playing 4-3-3 if Ricki is still keen to keep his 3 top strikers on the pitch. Esp assuming brown, elliot & bertos would be his midfield pref (or McG) that is most likely a very narrow attack/mid. Only way that'll change would be if he drops 2 of his strikers and plays bertos and someone like brockie up high (effectively 4-5-1)

I really dont see england with 3 at the back...it seems so unnatural to even mention 3-5-2 and england in the same sentance

Right now, I can think of a line up until I reach the right back spot, mental that Ricki hasn't picked anyone proven in that position. For me the obvious choice is Oughton, with even Steven Old maybe being the next best, but seeing as they are both out the window.....

Reid - The stand out from the squad, but reading through that Danish forum didn't inspire confidence. Probably best kept in the middle

Lochhead/Smith - Both left sided, but both experienced at full back, I'm leading towards using who ever is more confortable on their right foot to take the spot.

Brown/Barron - Both have the athletic qualities, but it may be too late to make this drastic a switch.

Christie - Has been used there recently with Tampa Bay, worth a go in a warm up match, definately.

That leaves Vicelich, Siggy, Boyens, Mulligan and Bertos as a wingback as very slim chances.

                                 Paston

                          Nelsen      Reid
Smith/Christie                                Lochhead

                     Elliot             Brown

                       McGlinchey/Clapham
   Bertos
                                             Wood/Killen
                            Killen/Fallon
You know we belong together...

my team against Australia would be -

            Paston
Christie Vicelich Siggy Smith
      Reid     Brown
Leo
                      Clapham
      Wood   Fallon

is it only 3 subs for friendly's?

if not then my halftime subs would be-
Wood - Smeltz
Fallon - Killen
Clapham - Wee Mac(i know its not his suited posistion but give it a try)
Bertos - Brockie
Brown - Elliot(make Elliot a lone DM)
Christie - Mulligan(move Mully into AM)
Vicelich - Nelsen
Sigmund - Lochead (move lochy to LB and put smith at CB)
Put Reid into Rb.

So the 2nd half team would be
           Paston
Reid Nelsen Smith Lochead
          Elliot
          Mulligan
Brockie              Wee Mac
       Smeltz Killen

First half team is to see how decent some players are at different posistions that RH could be deciding whether there reliable at that posistion. My reason for the such dramatic swaps at halftime is to see how the boys react in different posistions/formations and just for a few boys to get there fitness levels up without being forced to playing a full 90 after a couple of months off.

Any ideas, Suggestions?
