Meh, I think that aside from casual punters everyone knows that the FIFA rankings are mostly bullshark. And casual punters will find reasons to be down on kiwi football anyway. I'd rather we play good sides and narrowly lose and drop in the rankings so that when we play games that matter (ie WC qualifiers, Confeds Cup) we are battle-hardened than play shark sides and thrash them and rise in the rankings.

Belgium are currently 3rd in the FIFA rankings and Colombia are 4th, and I don't think many football fans would say that there's only 2 nations better than those 2.

Bulgium is pretty decent right now though.  Maybe not three but it shows what not losing can do.  

Belgium has been playing top nations too, not just your Gibs, Monacos, NZs etc
