AWs just cannot afford petty little player/coach ego conflicts - the player depth is wafer thin as it is - without then not selecting the best 23 man squad possible.

Marinovic has done pretty well, but Gleeson should be in the squad pushing him for that starting spot. We haven't seen Boyd in an AWs shirt since he left for Portugal - has he progressed since being overseas?  We really have no idea, but gut feeling is he should be in the squad ahead of Patterson.

If Boyd & Marinovic want to play for NZ, both these guys need to get on the phone to Hudson, apologise in need, eat some humble pie, and make it clear they are keen and available. They can ask Tommy Smith for a prepared speech.

On another note if Lewis has not been trialling overseas since the Confeds Cup, why hasn't he been flogged to death at NZF's headquarters by their fitness trainer, for the last month? Surely he has been told what he needs to do. Is AH really communicating openly with his team, or playing little mind games.
